  2. WDAM is essentially the only game in town....aside from the half-station efforts put on by Media General and Waypoint Media. At one time WHLT had a full blown news operation, but low advertiser support shut it down. That's the problem in small markets like Hattiesburg...a station literally OWNS the market, and once the competition tries....and later fails, the dominant station prevails and become untouchable and can do as it pleases....

  3. Miranda Beard revealed at a press conference Sunday afternoon that after WDAM received a tweet of a slide she used at a conference in Jackson after visiting her parents in TN she was escorted out of the building once she returned to work. News Director Nick Ortego and General Manager Joe Sciortino escorted Beard out of the building after they accused her of lying about her trip to Tennessee. Viewers are expressing their outrage on the station's Facebook page calling a boycott of channel 7. 5. Her KUSI Twitter went silent on Dec. 31st, but I believe she stayed on an extra week at the station. So she's been gone for two months, at least.

  6. Kristen left in December. Brandi has been the main fill in but AFAIK hasn't been made permanent. They had Sasha Foo anchor a few weeks ago for 2-3 weeks or so.

  7. It may seem harsh but it is a cold hard reality in a cold hearted business. She is not network news material, no delivery skills and comes across as a snob. When she was on Anderson Cooper program, her presence became an annoyance in the end. Focus groups did not connect to her possibly cause she was gone if it was working she would've stayed at CNN. Hill was one of people, viewers could not connect to, she had that problem at CBS and it transfered over to NBC. She would be considered to old for local news especially the big markets like NYC, Chicago &Philly. At best she would qualify for a low level market in a blue collar town.

  8. I imagine it's a new radar system. As far as I know the WSI augmented reality graphics rely on Ross CamBot pedestals and I think they still have those big Vinten Radamec ones. Do any of the stations have a dual pol radar either from NWS or perhaps their own?
