Macedo is good, a very solid pickup for WNBC. (If this is true, given Barmash's spotty history.) Not that I thought Natalie Pasquarella deserved the promotion, but it's telling that they passed over both her and Kerry Barrett.

Disney doesn't even want to own 20% of ABC/O&O's, let alone 20% of Scripps. Don't understand why mardek keeps bringing this crap up repeatedly...

So a small follow-up to this B&C stated today that a group of U.S. Senators among both parties were not happy about Wheeler requiring station groups to unwind its JSAs just to get deals to go through.

Man, Tomasulo's come a long way from anchoring weekend sports at WKBW. He was up there when I lived in Buffalo a while back...

Do even the NY stations have that many people on their weather staff. I imagine they have one or two producers in the background but now it seems that in the afternoon / evening newscasts one of the weekend meteorologists is there.

It showed up last week when Jim, Jacqueline, and Keith were all off Friday and Vai, Rosemary, and Denise were filling in.

Why is it that people have this obsession with ABC investing in or buying Scripps? ABC is small change to Disney and ABC doesn't buy.

At this rate all they will have in a few years as assets will be the licenses... Transmitters will all be leased or contracted out as transmitter/space packages....all property will have been sold off for profit....and the entire Scripps chain will exist only on worthless debt riddled paper....to be sold to the highest bidder. Same goes for Clearchannel, Tengna,MG,Nexstar,etc etc... By 2030 the traditional TV license will be worthless...and all video entertainment will be IP based over cell towers. A "TV station" will reside in a typical office building with terminals and labor only. The only analog devices will be the camera lens.... mic....and the analog robots that operate all of it.

They are losing money because they aren't spending the money to make money. They will go under at some point and be forced to sell stuff...

Brynn Gingras is going to CNN.. I know we all know shes leaving WNBC but not sure if where she's going was mentioned
