  3. Well Hearst seemed to sweep the Headliner Awards. WCVB won best website, WTAE won two awards for their Chronicle show, and WBAL won best breaking news coverage for the Baltimore Riots and Best Newscast at 11pm.

  4. More may come thanks to TEGNA's buyouts, specifically at WFAA. And as I've said before, they'd be better off selling WFAA than keeping it and some of the station's personnel accepting buyouts, but seeing as how by this August they'll own the largest non-O&O affiliates of ABC (WFAA), NBC (WXIA), and CBS (WUSA) and keep them all, I digress

  6. It's getting harder and harder to tell the difference. I watched the weekend offerings in Palm Springs and L.A. and they were both just as good / bad depending on how you view. Large markets need super cheap people just like the smaller ones. It' s really starting to show.

  8. John Mahaffey, longtime anchor for WAFB and then WBRZ, passed away Friday after surgery to remove a tumor from his bladder. He was 77. http://theadvocate.com/news/15564113-123/wbrz-tv-says-former-anchor-john-mahaffey-dies-overnight Longtime weather guy Pat Shingleton did a fitting tribute, doing "A Final Note", which Mahaffey did at the end of each newscast. http://www.wbrz.com/news/funeral-services-set-for-former-wbrz-anchor-john-mahaffey

  9. It wasn't reuploaded by YouTube - they probably got it from FTVLive who uploaded it to his own site and MediaITe took that as well. Not worth the hassle. Still somehow got 15K views. It was something of a chyron screw up during way too early where the stock ticker only displayed some very weird dummy text.
