  1. She has a daughter, I'm sure working evenings took a toll on them (especially weekends) yeah getting up at 2 is hard but now she'll have the whole day with her. Cindy seems very family oriented and this may have been her decision for that reasin

  6. OK, here is an actual fact from July 4: At the time of the fireworks, I was watching two aerial broadcast cameras in the vicinity of the show. Visibility was zero. Rain doesn't have to be actually falling for a low cloud ceiling to disrupt visuals.

  7. One thing I thought was funny was that I saw several news clips on 6ABC showing prep for the shows and they still said "Wawa Welcome America festival" just without the usual taglines, promos, etc.

  8. My rant about WPVI and its viewers wasn't directed at anyone in particular. It actually was more directed at the station itself and how it's managed to snow over its viewers buy just mailing it in these past few years and their current image campaign reflects it, probably because feel the heat from WCAU. When you have to put out promos that essentially say "Watch Us Cause that's What You're Used to and Change is Scary", you clearly have a stale product.

  9. I might as well post the rest of what I have on YouTube so far. There will be more uploaded. WTVT & WXFL news segments about the death of TPD officer Porfirio Soto from 12/30/88. This is one of the last news broadcasts of WXFL before channel 8 switched back to WFLA on New Year's 1989. KLAS Eyewitness News bumper 10/15/85: WJXT Eyewitness News open from 1/30/94: WAWS open and talent rejoin from 10/10/97. Apologies bad tape.

  10. I've heard this open, but never seen it. Until this week it was the oldest El Paso open on YT: The two oldest KDBC opens are not in the NMSA for audio quality issues. The first is from a blooper reel - not the first time - and it looks like the audio was out of pitch (I've corrected this and sent the sample to the NMSA, but...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=nxiAW6ZbXmk;t=626 And for the second, well, the guy needs a capture card:

  11. I've been the biggest (though not the most vocal) critic of that bar on top, but if used properly, it should come in very handy on election night. So, there's that.
