  1. Jessica Dean scored an interview with Gov. Scott Walker tonight. This week's newscasts have been surprisingly hard news so far for the most part. Maybe a sign of the future?

  2. I just roll my eyes to this. Nothing surprises me anymore with WLS, especially when it comes to Cheryl Scott because she's the princess around there. She's up against: Skilling: 38 years at WGN Miller: 25 years at WMAQ Baskerville: 29 years at WBBM

  3. Oklahoma City's CBS affiliate KWTV has launched a new technology called StreetScope that allows them to overlay maps live onto their helicopters life feed in addition to some features such as creating maps to calculate space. I imagine they are using this CineFlex Geo+ technology for the overlays. I was wondering when and if a station would ever pick up this technology.

  5. Skilling Miller and Baskerville deliver a way better forecasr. WLS is making a huge mistake they'll pay for it in the ratings. Bill Bellis at WFLD is wayy better than Cheryl Scott,so is Strehl and Souza and god whoever made the decision to let Caplan go for her should be fired

  6. Eat just meant that if the helicopters mapping system is so hi tech that it would automatically insert the correct line of scrimmage on screen.

  7. The Philly stations haven't even sent that much talent to the RNC. Yes, they have network coverage to supplement - where WFMZ is independent, but WFMZ has CNN Newsource. I always wondered if it was a contractual thing (or just an ego thing) that Rob & Wendy only anchor their broadcasts with each other or solo. The only time I can remember seeing them with anyone else was when they fill-in @ 4pm, or during extended snowstorm coverage. I agree about Sunrise as well, 4 hours is much too long to be alone at the desk. PS - Day 14 since I noticed Bryan Salmond being MIA. As far as I know there still has been no mention made on-air. This could be a great "Ask the Anchors" question for the Sunrise team "not-to-answer" (like the Rick Edwards question was.)

  8. I don't think she's a godsend, but she's not too bad. The thing about Sunny is that she tries to hard to be a likeable/relatable/hip panelist and it's pretty obvious. Often times she will say something or agree with something just to get on Whoopi's good side. Most of the time when she says something, i'm like WTF?

  9. To me, the only way for a news personality to come on The View is to be the moderator like Meredith was. In most cases you can really be neutral and let the panelists discuss the topic and you chime in to bring it all together to move on to the next topic. If you're not the moderator then you are treading in deep waters. I like Paula but I knew she wouldn't have worked out to well for this show. I'm surprise ABC even allowed her to be a panelists. I guess lesson learned. But Jedediah is perfect for the show. Also Sarah Haynes isn't so bad her self even though she's a "journalist." Hopefully they let both Raven and Candance go as well. Candance always seem scared to voice her opinion since she's sitting next to Whoppi. Yes Whoppi could be intimidating but come on girl speak your mind. I used to love Raven as an actress. Knowing her in this format doesn't do her any justice. I just hate that someone who I admired for not being a "Disney child star curse"actually is one. In Tyra Bank voice "I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you" and she had to screw it up.

  10. I would bet money the Whoopi portion of the article is definitely true. I remember watching an episode where the hot topic was about Kim Davis, the KY marriage clerk who refused to sign a gay couple their marriage license. She had done an interview with ABC news (ironically I think Paula Faris was the one who interviewed her). The panel was discussing the interview and you could tell as the discussion went on, Whoopi was getting more and more pissed off with Paula the more she talked. Whoopi looked like she was ready to leap across the table to strangle Paula lol. My opinion was always neutral about Paula Faris, but after seeing her in the example I gave above, my opinion of her has soured. She should stick to GMA and stay far away from opinionated shows like The View. Playing devil's advocate and thumping the religion card doesn't really work well for her imo.

  11. FMZ has 3 people at the RNC in Cleveland -- seems a little overkill to me? Wendy Davis being one of them. It's strange -- when either Rob or Wendy are off, it's just solo with the other. But right now, Rob is off and Wendy is at the RNC, so Jim & Joy did all the newscasts this afternoon, and also tonight. Why can't one of them fill in for Rob or Wendy on a regular basis?? Their substitute policies make no sense! I really hate when Eve or Jaciel anchor a 4 hour morning newscast by themselves. EDIT: Wendy scored an interview with Dan Rather. That's interesting.

  13. Wonderful... Let's see if the 17% demo lead that 5 has at 10pm grows or not after this... You make too many changes too quick or make the wrong ones and viewers can flee quickly...
