  1. Speaking of O&Os, how is CBS the most watched network if most of their O&Os aren't #1 or even #2? Is it because people don't watch those O&Os for news, but rather for the shows and NFL games?

  2. Wonderful... Let's see if the 17% demo lead that 5 has at 10pm grows or not after this... You make too many changes too quick or make the wrong ones and viewers can flee quickly...

  3. Oklahoma City's CBS affiliate KWTV has launched a new technology called StreetScope that allows them to overlay maps live onto their helicopters life feed in addition to some features such as creating maps to calculate space. I imagine they are using this CineFlex Geo+ technology for the overlays. I was wondering when and if a station would ever pick up this technology.

  5. Looks like StormChaser 5 is getting a new friend... 'NBC-owned Television Stations is deploying a fleet of three mobile Doppler weather radar trucks for all of its NBC and Telemundo stations.' http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/nbc-owned-stations-unveil-stormranger-mobile-radar-trucks/175419

  7. Like WWJ and, if NBC doesn't do anything about the possible lack of OTA coverage of NBC Boston, WNEU, for example.

  9. In other as-expected Texas news, Waco's KCEN has dropped it's KCEN-HD branding, instead opting for the generic "Channel 6" branding. Logo is as expected: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153615555741510 Open: http://www.kcentv.com/news/local/local-university-sees-first-day-of-campus-carry/285591535

  10. KXVA Fox Abilene* KIDY is continuing the KIDY Fox San Angelo brand as far as I can tell. ' It's unlikely that they'll be sharing the same newscast. KIDY is being pre-recorded and then aired at 6 and 10, while KXVA is live to focus on being "local" in the Abilene market which, in my opinion, is a lost cause since the operations still stem out of San Angelo. They changed the branding to make the two stations appear that they are operating separately.

  11. To me, the only way for a news personality to come on The View is to be the moderator like Meredith was. In most cases you can really be neutral and let the panelists discuss the topic and you chime in to bring it all together to move on to the next topic. If you're not the moderator then you are treading in deep waters. I like Paula but I knew she wouldn't have worked out to well for this show. I'm surprise ABC even allowed her to be a panelists. I guess lesson learned. But Jedediah is perfect for the show. Also Sarah Haynes isn't so bad her self even though she's a "journalist." Hopefully they let both Raven and Candance go as well. Candance always seem scared to voice her opinion since she's sitting next to Whoppi. Yes Whoppi could be intimidating but come on girl speak your mind. I used to love Raven as an actress. Knowing her in this format doesn't do her any justice. I just hate that someone who I admired for not being a "Disney child star curse"actually is one. In Tyra Bank voice "I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you" and she had to screw it up.

  13. I would bet money the Whoopi portion of the article is definitely true. I remember watching an episode where the hot topic was about Kim Davis, the KY marriage clerk who refused to sign a gay couple their marriage license. She had done an interview with ABC news (ironically I think Paula Faris was the one who interviewed her). The panel was discussing the interview and you could tell as the discussion went on, Whoopi was getting more and more pissed off with Paula the more she talked. Whoopi looked like she was ready to leap across the table to strangle Paula lol. My opinion was always neutral about Paula Faris, but after seeing her in the example I gave above, my opinion of her has soured. She should stick to GMA and stay far away from opinionated shows like The View. Playing devil's advocate and thumping the religion card doesn't really work well for her imo.

  14. LOL, that article is funny as hell. But if true, it's not surprising. Paula often tried to be neutral, using that "journalist" card, but there were a few times where it was obvious that she was on the conservative side. I think that Paula became expendable when Jedediah started guest co-hosting. She fits the younger/conservative/female/strong voice aspects that they want on the show. And truth be told, I may not agree with most of Jedediah's politics, but I can respect the fact that she stands up for what she says and that she doesn't come across as a phony.

  15. I just roll my eyes to this. Nothing surprises me anymore with WLS, especially when it comes to Cheryl Scott because she's the princess around there. She's up against: Skilling: 38 years at WGN Miller: 25 years at WMAQ Baskerville: 29 years at WBBM

  18. I know I'll come across as being biased but those are his brothers. Jose has proven in past interviews he can equally go after republicans as much as democrats (I'm inclined to believe he's leftward leaning). It's not like he's the wife of NBC's Political Director Chuck Todd who is a communications consult and is the co founder of a marketing company that caters towards democratic candidates. Or is the husband of Savannah Guthrie who was the traveling chief of staff for the Gore Campaign in 2000. All the aforementioned examples in my view aren't as bad as George Stephanopoulos who is the chief anchor / political correspondent at ABC who worked as the White House Communications Director and Senior advisor for policy and strategy under Bill Clinton. The previous three examples show that there may be some perceived bias given their spouses professions but none come close to actually being the chief anchor who WORKED for the White House in a senior level position. I'm sure there are examples of republicans in the media who have family members that are active in the Republican Party but as I'm a democrat I don't pay attention to them.
