  1. Apparently Chris Murphy is coming back to San Diego as an anchor at KSWB. Not sure what slot he is filling. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/on-the-move-92016/178380?utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=tvspy&utm_campaign=dailynewsletter20160920

  2. You want an ugly duckling? WIVT is in that category. I mean, Television by Design did a great package, but it's so old there are people in college who are younger than that look. WIVT is a "blow up and start from scratch". Nexstar can do it. They've proven that before.

  3. Good question. The only thing I could think of off the top of my head is keeping him at 5 with Lesli Foster and team him up with Andrea Roane to co-anchor the noon news as well, along with being Leon's backup. I don't see Bruce Johnson retiring anytime soon as he just got the 7pm newscast to himself (haven't watched it yet to see what it's like), so if Leon did come to WUSA, it's really difficult to figure out what the hell WUSA would do.

  4. Raycom could probably swallow them whole without any conflicts, but each of their markets has key conflicts that affects Gray (WITN and WCTI/WYDO/WFXI), Heartland (KRCR/KAEF and KNVN/KVSL) and Cordillera (KPAX and NBC Montana's stations) from a straight buyout. WCYB/WEMT would be good for Gray and Raycom could benefit from the New Bern stations.

  5. At long as WEWS keeps the "Circle 5", I'm all for the rebrand. Now about "The Now Cleveland"...

  6. I don't see live streaming coming back. You know how Mr. Sook and his company is: CONTROL EVERYTHING WE TAKE OVER, by which I mean take the station bare and sloppily re-build it to Nexstar bare standards. Based on past acquisitions, I feel like that will be the case with the MG stations too.

  8. I guess I'm not surprised. That said, he'll likely show up in the rare case when they go with one meteorologist for the whole night. That said, it's always nice to see Linda at 10. I'm stunned, though, that Elgas is already getting the same treatment at ABC that he got at NBC. On Monday and Tuesday nights when Alan is off, Rob will do all 4 broadcasts on the mothership. When Wednesday rolls around, Ravi will do the 5 and the flagship 10, with Rob continuing in his field reporting/Burton-backup contributor role (really, they might as well formally add him to the 10 o'clock line-up). That's exactly what happened to him at WMAQ when Dick Johnson would still get top priority behind Stafford. Perhaps it's a sweet incentive they gave Ravi for getting passed over, but I'm still surprised.

  9. I wonder if In-Sink V1 got an "Update" before V2 was commissioned--though the question then is whether it was ever folded into the proper syndicated package...

  11. It's WBMA's 20th anniversary of ABC affiliation...and we have a first anniversary special from 1997!
