  1. Article mentioned Norah O'Donnell. I also read elsewhere that Jeff Glor is a possibility, and would bring a younger image (just as David Muir did at ABC) to the program. I personally thought that Scott was always a bad fit for the program. As the article stated, he is too slow placed and always came across to me as boring as hell. I also felt that John Dickerson was not the best choice for Face the Nation either. CBS This Morning is one of few bright spots for the network and I feel they'd be dumb to mess with that team and the momentum they have going. I also like Jane Pauley on Sunday Morning, so that's another bright spot.

  2. Disney didn't come to own ABC until 7 years after this promotional video was produced. Mickey was used solely because of the ownership by Roy Disney.

  3. Which doesn't include Reading and Berks County, which increases 69's target sub-market to 1.2 million. There's some rural parts, sure. But this is a significant chunk of the Philly DMA. Considering the Glendive DMA exists (and that Baltimore and Washington and all the Southern New England DMAs are packed in so tightly), it's a wonder that the Lehigh Valley and Berks County never got spun off into a DMA of their own. ETA: And of the New York DMA -- western New Jersey (mainly Warren County) is also super-served by 69.

  6. KYTX has sure gone the cheapie-cheap/whos-that route at 6 & 10. Not the way to go up against KLTV, I'm afraid. Meanwhile, at least WFAA isn't quite that bad, but oh has there been the revolving door there since the sale (not that the other north TX news stations haven't had their own dizzying amounts of talent changes lately).

  7. I believe when WDKY (FOX-56) came on as a FOX station in the late 80's was trying to take the ABC affiliation.

  8. I'd like to know the last time Sinclair launched their OWN news department at a single station (or market) they own.... Even the brand-new newscast on WTGS FOX 28 in Savannah is piped in from WPDE in Myrtle Beach with a few "local reporters" to cover the news. If anything, independent, secondary operations in Sinclair's fold could be on their way out over the next few years.

  9. I don't feel that Michael has been the complete disaster you all say, but I'd settle for expanding the 8:30 format with him back to the TOTH in exchange for returning him to contributor status before 8. I think that would be a reasonable compromise that restreghtens the news chops of the Robin and George team at 7 but still allows those in charge to maintain and expand the audience format (which really isn't that much different from when they'd have a standing crowd on the first floor for interviews and cooking segments back during the Charlie and Diane days).

  11. By February sweeps, Michael probably going to be moved off because GMA lost so much momentum. First the way he left Live was a big mess, and then when he got the full time gig, he didn't fit. Plus he cut both Amy and Lara time down and TJ Holmes.

  12. It's needed. Outside of the many tweeks that have been made to the studio, the basic elements including the main desk had remained relatively unchanged since the Katie Couric era of the program.
