  1. Sean Lewis was on tonight instead of Tahman. I wonder if we'll see Tahman tomorrow.

  3. WNWO is in so much turmoil, the ratings, layoffs, etc. You want my advice, here's what Sinclair should do with WNWO... SELL THE STATION! Sell WNWO to another broadcast group that wants to revamp and revive NBC 24 and dig themselves out of the ratings slump.

  4. And he just won an Emmy, too! From his Facebook page: Friends, I wanted you to hear directly from me…it is true I won't be keeping my current show weekdays on MSNBC. My last show was Thursday. My colleagues are incredible people…and I am so proud of our team and our accomplishments. It is always a special blessing when co-workers become close friends and family. We achieved that bond and our hard work was recently honored by winning an Emmy in 2016 for Breaking News coverage of last year's Supreme Court decision on Marriage Equality. I can't thank my colleagues enough for years of their dedication to me and our show. Also, a BIG thanks to the viewers who've been supporters of our coverage at MSNBC. Hearing from you (whether positive or negative) is always an important thing for me. So what's next? Stay tuned! In the meantime, I am going to be spending the holidays with my husband and family. From our family to yours… Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays & Happy New Year, -Thomas

  5. Last year the poinsettias were across the whole deskfront, but they cut back this year so the logo isn't blocked. As for the old set, I can't recall a year where they didn't decorate, but they spent more some years for than others. Early in the old set's run they also put garland on the edge of the desk, covering the gold lit area.

  6. Also, I noticed that ABC 7 is using poinsettias on set this year. Is this their first year doing it, or did they start it last year when this set debuted? I can't recall them using poinsettias on the previous set, but I might be wrong...

  7. Surprised at Hearst. Couldn't find any comments aside from the FTV post. Some of their executives made comments against Trump. Sure the founder was conservative but now it didn't seem like it. Wasn't much Trump coverage here given it's a blue state.

  8. NBC Local 4 seems more likely. I'm not even gonna speculate on what nbc4i.com will become.

  10. Or better yet, sell the NBC 24 intellectual rights to either Gray or Raycom and end this charade.

  12. So this basically is on par with what WKBW did in their most dire days before Scripps bought them, sub-contracting out master control to a company in Atlanta, but also reducing redundant news personnel. WNWO also hasn't switched to HD yet, so this is one way to finally get that done. It can only help; WNWO has been cursed since the Overmeyer days and with WDIV easily available in Toledo they've always had an uphill battle. The eight month carriage dispute with Buckeye where nobody batted an eye and demanded the station back also didn't help at all. Sinclair tried, but like Raycom, Malrite and Barrington before it, the station just will never move out of last place.

  13. If MSNBC thought Olbermann could generate even 1/100th of a ratings point then he would be on the air again with his tired shtick. He is a giant liability, and nobody wants to have to defend him publicly anymore. The only way he can get MSNBC to re-hire him would be under 2 conditions. *He has to work for free. * He has to keep his mouth shut.

  14. Barrington had a major hand in sinking WNWO into irrelevance. Sinclair was only the death knell.
