  1. Ouchy! I hope it was the sports dept camera they blew up.

  2. Keep in mind that it's summer and warm weather can contribute to anchor cross contamination. Just like a summer picnic. Remember to always wash your hands before preparing a fresh newscast with different anchors. Keep your news utensils clean also...many fine news people are poisoned each year because of dirty, fecal contaminated pens, or even dirty mics. Always use gloves when handling any kinds of sports. Always sneeze away from crew and interns, we can't afford to have them out sick because they have actual skills we need to produce the show. Keep breaking news at or below 40 degrees to ensure freshness and safety. Always use a condom...just because they're fun.

  4. It was Ivory at 4. I think Demetrius has been handling most of the late post-baseball newscasts this summer. I'm glad WGN moved him up... really enjoy his forecasts.

  5. Well they kept that secret from the GM and ND for 5 days... I'm sure there is a perfectly logical explanation. I bet an intern is involved somewhere...somehow. Now what would be really funny is if they found it with the windows down, and unlocked.... Even funnier.... Mast still up. Ouch. Ok...... still funnier..... 300 feet of coax still on the ground.

  6. Maybe WWOR can pull a KTLA and bring back one of their heritage logos. All they need to do is acquire the rights to the Mets from WPIX and then we go full circle with the New York Baseball Teams on OTA TV for the first time since 1998.

  7. Here's proof that Doc Morgan was WWL-TV's voiceover during the mid 1980s. (Listen closely, it's hard to tell cause it's one of his earlier works)

  8. Here are some WCBD promos and part of their news open from November 1993. It starts at 4:00.

  10. This area is completely under served, and gets no love from Las Vegas or SLC. Hope they can make something happen.

  11. While I've complained about FTVLive they do get some dirt. For instance WRTV parked their livetruck to cover a funeral of a police officer one Friday at an arena and seemingly forgot about it until the arena called them the next Wednesday.

  12. I watched that video without sound as I'm at work. I don't plan on watching it with sound.

  13. WJZ isn't the only one. I know KYW doesn't letterbox their signal, and last time I checked WCBS doesn't do it as well.

  14. Oh and its partly produced out of Arkansas. Because that same set is also used for WGFL/WNBW's news too.

  15. The price they paid is about the same as a starter house in Ca. Plus in St. George you can run the whole station off solar if you wanted to. The locals will welcome you. The business climate is welcoming and the people are nice...even though they tend to have many many wives. But once you peal thru the maiden frocks ..they seem to clean-up quite nicely.

  16. Considering that St. George is over 250 miles from SLC, I wonder if Weigel is planning on starting a news division. EDIT: Another idea: What if Weigel is planning on trying to purchase KSTU or whichever station is spun off from the Sinclair/Tribune merger?

  17. I didn't picture Wiegel Broadcasting buying ANYTHING. This is more surprising than Morgan Murphy Media buying the Saga stations

  18. WCWG is still separately owned by Lockwood. Hearst entered into an SSA in station operations, but cannot legally purchase the station.
