  1. This guy was good and trusted, just like Harvey, Don Kent and Bruce. He will be severely missed.

  3. That seems about right. WGN's 5,6 and 9 pm newscasts are an hour long each right? 3 1/2 hours of news has to be exhausting.

  4. No change on the air this evening, but I immediately thought about how it would look right at home with the very flat KXTV graphics.

  6. Here we go. Another (Ugh!) news expansion. Nexstar's WDTN in Dayton is adding an hourly 4pm, starting September 11.

  8. FOX O&O's that currently use NewsEdge: KRIV (as of Monday; 10pm) WAGA (11pm) WJBK (11pm) WOFL (11pm) FOX O&O's that have used NewsEdge: KDFW (9pm segments) KTBC (across all newscasts was used, I think) WTVT (11pm) WTTG (6 and 11pm) FOX O&O's that have never used NewsEdge: KMSP KSAZ KTTV KTVU WFLD WJZY WNYW WOGX (it still doesn't simulcast WOFL's 11pm weeknight news) WTXF You'd be surprised that a majority of its O&O's actually never used it.

  9. I wonder if it's the most versatile package out there?

  10. The fact that people run in here every couple months with "I THINK SCRIPPS IS CHANGING THEIR PACKAGE!!!!!" only to found out that other stations have been doing the same thing for months or years, is testament to how many options this package makes available to stations.

  11. Given how she did there and what she did to ratings, I am sure one of the rival stations would sign Angela Taylor as soon as an opening comes up. I think a spot on the Fox 35 morning show would be best for her alongside Amy Kaufeldt.

  12. Why you want to put an LXTV show on at 9am? They don't want to compete with 7 on the 9am half-hour? In my view, that's pretty dumb. What's wrong with putting that show on after MTP or before the 6am news?

  13. They'd probably have Mission acquire WHDF and then enter into an SSA to operate it.

  16. Dick actually came in for the late news (NBC had the NFL preseason opener last night, so the news started around 10:40-ish). I'm assuming they gave Dick off at 6pm as a courtesy so that he wouldn't have a prolonged period between newscasts if the NFL game ran super long.

  17. Dick Albert, a former WCVB meteorologist, has died at 73 due to complications of pneumonia. Dick work for WCVB for 31 years - starting in 1978 and retiring in 2009. My condolences go out to his wife, two sons, friends and family.
