Oh wow, has it already been 6 years? I could've sworn I remember him doing it in recent times, I guess time really does fly. Didn't he anchor the 2015 broadcast?

Out here in Albany, WNYT’s morning anchor Phil Bayly retired after a 42-year career, 31 years at the station, as well as 15 years anchoring mornings. I grew up watching Phil and even visited him in the newsroom once. He will surely be missed. Ritter has not anchored on Xmas since his youngest daughter was born five or six years ago. Early in his career he often missed holidays and celebrations with his kids because of work. He says he won't make that mistake with his youngest. The older kids are now grown.

I’m thinking (and hoping) he’s mistaking David Bloom with David Gregory. Especially since there was an article out earlier this week that Matt was behind Gregory, Elliott and a few others being pushed out from NBC as to protect his spot on the Today Show.

Here's a little more inside baseball via my "connection" to the station aka my cousin's wife who works there. Siafa Lewis is being dispatched to Minnesota to report from Super Bowl LII. Katie Kim is going to Pyeongchang to cover the Winter Olympics, but she has to leave weeks in advance before the games start. NBCU pays for both reporters' accomodations (airfare, hotel, etc).
