Ann Curry is appearing on CBS This Morning tomorrow to talk about her new PBS series, she also going to be asked about Matt Lauer and her firing from Today as well. Ann is going to be appearing on ABC's The View next Tuesday. Their are no plans for Ann to appear on NBC/ Today Show, which could mean Ann does not want go back to do an interview on NBC or NBC does not want NBC to come back to do an interview because of the sensitivity of NBC/Ann Curry relation. If the later is true that is a mistake. It would be a good idea to ask Ann on to promote her new show on the network. If the terms of the interview and the interview itself is conducted correctly is could help to close the chapter on Ann Curry for NBC. The interview could be done on the Today Show, Hoda and Ann are still on good terms I believe I remember few years after Ann was let go from Today, Hoda talked about having lunch with Ann Curry to catch up. However the other options could include Doing the interview as a taped piece on Nightly News or she could appear on MSNBC (Morning Joe, MSNBC LIVE)5 points

2 NewsTeam was never used outside of the promos as this was a transitional look for WMC-TV that lasted for a short time before Bert Ellis WSB-ified the station months later.5 points

So has the Treasure Valley, graphics too. If you're scoring at home the new TEGNA website layouts have nearly been rolled out to all the NBC affaliates. As of this posting the following TEGNA NBC regions have yet to see the new layout: Northwest Oregon Golden Triangle Texas - Yes, I am aware that NBC is a subchannel station here. Central Texas Brazos Valley None of TEGNA's stations not affiliated with NBC have the new websites as of yet.3 points

I don't think the person in charge of the graphics was expecting the Chiefs to blow a 21-0 lead when he or she wrote that lower 3rd.3 points

Here's a news open of WVEN 26, a Univision station in Orlando, FL (Home of Disney World) featuring news open graphics used exclusively for Entravision owned stations. It only lasted for a year before they switched to the standardized 2001-2006 Univision news graphics.2 points

Am I crazy or did WNBC update their anchor back drop? I never remember them having a giant screen. Didn't it used to be the "window" look? When did they change it?2 points

Lots of interesting things in that video. A promo for "Up to the Minute", but not the overnight show, but some sort of weekday thing. Any ideas as to what that was? The quick Aquafresh commercial during the CBS Newsbreak has the announcer lady seen in early 80s ads for ShopRite (and she's still doing voiceovers to this day, though that speaks more to SR's outdated, stale advertising more than anything else) It appears the layout of the newsroom and set was roughly the same as it looked a year later for NEWSEVEN A young Charlie van Dyke on VO duties (possibly his only work in Boston?)2 points

I was lost in a Youtube surfing time warp and stumbled upon a random anchor/reporter's channel. After going through a few of his videos, has has some rare footage of WTOK in Mississippi from 1990 with an unknown theme for their close. I've never heard it before, and to me, doesn't sound like generic production music. Also @Pine Belt Media will probably enjoy seeing Roslyn Anderson, who appears at the beginning of the video. Someone who has a channel should contact him to upload an open or full newscasts if he has any. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=wj-ZSnh5X6Y;m=5;s=252 points

WAGT and KWCH are correct. Images on FB (they have small images of some of their logos on their FB!) add a few more: WBNG: Leading the Way (introduced in 1995 with new logo) WSPA: In the Center of it All ("1992") WEHT: "We're Always Home" "WGRC" (News 5 Rochester, then News 9, now Spectrum News there): "A Step Beyond" KBAK: 29 Strong KWHD: The Light (non-news obviously) WCPX: 6 Believes in You WIBW: 13, The Original (almost certainly "1989") WTVM: A Special Place WPGH: Friend of the Family KCOY: "12 is Yours" (mid-late 80s... KCOY 1988???) KNTV: "A New Vision" KTWO: "K2, The Free Spirit" WTXL: "This is our place" (mid-80s?) WQAD: early-80s Active 8 KTSP: The Vision (YES!) And I'm saving the best for last... KFOR: 4 Strong. The image for this should raise every eyebrow in this room. EDIT: There's a few more! KAMR - It's 4 Sure (late 80s/early 90s, no video footage exists) WTAJ - 10 On the Move WOWK - 13 Believes in You (1996 - see below)2 points

The TV-ARK update (which is rather extensive — the backend needed to be overhauled too) won't come online for a few months. They've also been doing 50fps remasters of all their UK clips so it'll be a treat anyway. However, the international stuff might be at increased risk. Some of the materials (a batch of different TV station promos from 1993 including the only promo I've ever sen with the KOCO plain 5) are also in the NewsActive3 collection. Our own Roly (NCFLMedia) actually asked them on FB about some older clips, and here's what was said: "We are aiming to recapture them however we don't have the original tapes for all of them.. The ones the size of a postage stamp made with real video will probably be missed"2 points

Some of those “first-generation” opens were on TVARK until it went dark for an update last year. I doubt they’ll still be there once it comes back.2 points

Some more KMTV promos - the first promo has an unknown theme, the second using “TuesdayA”. Look for CNN anchor Chuck Roberts and former KMBC anchor Bev Chapman in the second promo. Also, did KMTV use “TuesdayA” or “Firepower” for their news opens in 1980? Or did they run concurrently?2 points

Kenny was just named one of FTV Live's Top 5 Worst People in TV News. A surprise since it is in contrast to everything I have heard about him and does not match the few interactions I have had with him.1 point

They did a story recently about the last construction beam being installed in the building. There was no reference at all to them moving into that building in the future. Don't you think they would have said, "Oh, by the way, NBC10 will be relocating to the new Comcast Center at such and such a date"?1 point

I dunno, this doesn't sound like Peters to me. This sounds more Dallas, the vocals on the WYFF version sound kind of Dallas to me. I think WYFF is on Peters' client list for the original Your Friend 4 (possibly connected to KTVO's "Your Friend 3" which was also definitely Peters). Dunno about KTVL...1 point

...! Was not expecting the KGGM or WBTW packs to be Peters! (I think we knew KARK, and I had discovered WHO.) I am extremely intrigued by the listings for KPNX and KTSP. I think at this point, barring an 83-84 surprise, the only KTSP campaign that fits the bill is The Vision.1 point

Some IDs and promos from Lexington in the late 80s and early 90s. WTVQ, WKYT and WLEX. This Kentucky Derby promo would have been from 1991, judging from the revised logo and the date. May 4th fell on Saturday in 1991, not 1988. The derby is always the first Saturday in May.1 point
