  1. Can I put this year? There are so many Sinclair threads I don't know anymore. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/4/22/ouch

  5. It would not surprise me to see the O&Os become de facto local news channels after the Disney-FOX deal. It is downright SCARY how little they're relying on syndie programming these days--even from what's basically their own bench (Wendy, The Real, court shows, etc.)

  9. They are not shutting it down. Their 10pm news is still quite well, even if sometimes they're being beaten by WPVI's news on WPHL.

  10. Maybe that wouldn't be an issue if their syndie shows weren't overwhelmingly such tripe.

  11. Eight hours of local news in the morning. Now that is the true definition of overkill.

  12. WCBS August 1984 5pm - great wide shot of the dual sets at the end when they throw to the 6pm. I think this one gets an award for a set that maximizes a small space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5F8sJu-lqA

  13. --What a weird call to put the 9 in a box. Only reason I could think for them to do it is because a consultant told them to. How competitive is KC now ratings-wise? EDIT: Wait--"Today's KMBC 9?" That SCREAMS "consultant."

  16. The question should be whether Air Comfort Solutions Chopper 4 survives the station's ownership change whether it be Sinclair or someone else.

  17. Thank you, Ramona! Here are a few WBBM opens (and a close) featuring the faster-paced 1990 update of that theme:

  19. The Allman Report is no more: after threatening to sexually assault David Hogg, he's been terminated and KDNL is back at square one. The threats had prompted calls for his firing and a boycott of the program's sponsors.

  20. I’m sure it will be a solo anchor like they used to have when they did a show in the 11am hour. If they are using someone from the morning show I bet it’s Jen Lahmers. I wonder if they will use Mike Woods or Samantha Augeri (or some combination) as the meteorologist. EDIT: they could also move Ernie’s “show” to noon and replace it at 6 with hard news.

  21. KSAZ hasn't had a 4:00 (or 4:30) newscast since 1996 or so. They're the last station into the timeslot. The others are new times for KSAZ's news.

  22. Those graphics are bland and so boring! Fox Television needs to invest in better visual product, like the Fox Sports network design.
