  2. Funny it took Griffin this long to acquire radio stations, on account it has owned the Radio Oklahoma Network syndicated news service for at least 18 years now. Also, the deal creates strange bedfellows for the stations, since they'll be going from being sister properties of KJRH to being sister properties of one of its chief rivals, KOTV. This is duly noted considering that KFAQ -- which essentially founded KJRH in 1954 -- is involved in the deal.

  3. Exactly. She's currently in a wheelchair and had to step down from the 10pm because it got too tough for her to go home between the 6 and the 10pm broadcasts. That's a sad thing to watch someone you love go through.

  4. Are they trying to make Dylan a more versatile member of the team. They had her interviewing AARP CEO on the battle against dementia. She was doing the weather today as well.

  5. http://www.wafb.com/story/38362607/donna-britt-to-retire-from-wafb 38 years at the station and she's battling ALS. She currently anchors the 6pm newscast and is retiring on June 13th (A week from today). I wish her luck with her battle and hope that she can enjoy her time with her family. Elizabeth Vowell took over for her whenever Britt stepped down from the 10pm newscast so I'm thinking she'll add that to her duties as well.

  10. She stopped doing that before she got pregnant. She just has a good agent, there is nothing really remarkable about Dylan as far as on air talent is concerned she just knows how to network with the right people and get good negeoitiations for herself.

  11. I also imagine she got tired of being constantly on the road for days on end for storms when you got kids at home.

  12. Yes, I guess that is what she wanted in her contract with her agent. She probably wants to be taken seriously besides just being eye candy weather lady.

  14. There's been a huge dump of 90's/2000's-era WFSB on YouTube and with it comes some questions of what themes they used and when. For starters, here's Mika Brzezinski doing a tease for the noon news the day after much of their viewership was saddened by the Patriots loss in Super Bowl XXXI. The bumper music in the background is the music that serves a the NMSA sample for "News Package II", their 1997-2002 theme which came into play once Meredith took over from Post-Newsweek. Problem is that this clip was 8.5 months before that transfer took place. Funny thing is I remember this being used after Meredith took over as well which begs the question of which theme being which. Also, this clip from the Blizzard of 1996 (or in Hilton Kaderli terms, "Ginger"). And from the file of the other WFSB vet now working on a national morning show:

  15. Almost full newscasts of former Univision O&O now Entravision station KLUZ's Noticias 41 from 1999 and 2000 respectively. As you can see, the video features the very last news set KLUZ used under Univision ownership before Entravision bought the station.
