  1. I guess all of the other Morris stations have "virtual" ice machines!

  2. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't WPTZ the only Hearst-owned station that's still in that 16:9 widescreen format?

  3. A RARE TREAT from 1982 at KUSA in Denver (formerly KBTV and an ABC affiliate). This looks like the 6:00am morning edition of 9NEWS, which was just before ABC's Good Morning America (Joan Lunden & David Hartman at the time) came on the air at 7:00am from the 0:00 mark to the 0:28 mark - the opening credits using the cut from It's All Right Here (Peters Communications version). It's the SAME cut that was also used on sister station KPNX in Phoenix. from the 2:38 mark to the 3:12 mark - the closing credits with the cut from Peters' It's All Right Here that I've never heard before. I've seen the 9NEWS opens and closes, which came from nighttime newscasts with Mike Landess and Ed Sardella, but never like this.

  5. Must be nice to have a station ice maker... At KBEX-TV we fired our station Ice maker due to budget cuts. Now we have to drink straight outta the bottle... We even told "Dan Dan, The Transmitter Man"...that he could drink and drive in the KBEX live unit... But only if he used the cup holder. (rimshot)

  6. KSAZ is promoting its new newscasts in local avails. The 4pm hour will be anchored by John Hook and Kari Lake. The KUTP 7pm show, the station's first regular newscast, is being anchored by Marc Martinez and Christina Carilla, KSAZ's first outside weeknight news anchor hire in nearly two decades. Carilla comes to Phoenix from the Waterman duopoly in Fort Myers. She was WZVN's morning anchor until being reassigned in April to be a reporter and evening live desk anchor for WBBH.

  8. You are correct. Florida News Network was the brainchild of Ken Middleton, WTSP's ND. Thom Allen also did V/O work for KMOL

  9. I have to disagree with you on your assessment. While I agree that there is a growing niche for conservative news, I don’t think “right” is “hot”. “Left” is still the “hot” item. Honestly, what I think most people would enjoy there is a lack of, and that’s “center”.

  10. Bob Costas' Later is over and now it's time for dual ABC-NBC affiliate KTEN to end its day: I know it was camcorder recorded, but still a rare treat!

  11. There are NO unbaised newscast anymore. I'm telling you what is selling right now...and what is not. Yes it's totally political. As a station GM I think dollars... You think politics...and that's how I make money. When "democrat and left" is hot and selling....I will tell the KBEX sale weasels to sell left. But right now..."Right" is "Hot". ask ABC. Why don't you all ask Jeff Zuker what the viewers are watching. I don't tell the viewers what to watch. I just try to make (and take) all the money I can from both sides....and currently the fat white guys with guns are buying ad time....and watching TV. Let me tell you a little story... George Soro's just pulled out of a 1.5 million dollar ad buy in San Diego where he was pushing a candidate for local District Attorney. Do you know how many :30's that is??? ...and the worth? http://freebeacon.com/politics/soros-drops-1-5-million-san-diego-far-left-district-attorney-candidate/ That's a hell of a lot of money going into TV ads that suddenly got yanked because somebody didn't think that was worth it . The left is just too fragmented right now, and they don't have any direction for advertising with lack of messaging. Plenty of "appointment viewers " still out there. Think of all the old people stuck in rest homes...watching FNC and Lawrence Welk...just dying for election day when the bus will come...and the seniors will go vote. People "age in" to more conservative views when they decide they want to keep most of their remaining dollars. The boomers still have 20 years to bloom.

  12. The CBS news bias has cost them viewers. Same with CNN....same with many other left skewing news operations. Just like the NFL...conservative viewers just don't care for the CBSEN product. I'm 1000% positive the suits at CBS already know this. MSNBC picks up the majority of the cable left...leaving CNN "crumbs". FNC, OAN, Newsmax, Sinclair and some others see that conservative TV has many , many viewers who are on ALL platforms. That's why you see those operations (conservative) expanding...except maybe "The Blaze". Is "Political Affiliation" a Nielsen / Comscore demographic yet? How about LGBT as a Nielsen / Comscore demo? The CBS product is the problem...not the presenter.
