  1. Most of the younger generation has grown up around the internet. YouTube, MP3 players, the iPhone, Netflix... all game changers that have shaken up the entertainment industry and journalism to their cores. Think about how radically different the world is today as opposed to 1998. There are options today that would have been unfathomable, even as Matt Drudge was shaking up the journalism world with his news aggregation site that also broke news. Fox News will survive, but in order to do so, will need to adapt. Yes, there will be an eventual audience drop, but every outlet will be experiencing that soon. It's not rocket science. Comcast, Disney, Viacom, CBS... and even Nexstar, TEGNA and (gasp!) Sinclair... will all have no choice but to change with the times. Some will be successful, some won't. It's the nature of the beast. What Fox News has done by dominating the ratings in an unprecedented scale can truly be considered as the final hurrah for traditional linear broadcasting, regardless of the content or political viewpoint. It is a rather extraordinary achievement that we will never see again.

  2. It's been a rough road getting here, but we're excited to reveal the new site. Let's get to it! Outside of visual changes, there aren't a whole lot of functional changes. Notable changes include: Mobile support is improved, especially when composing a message. Emoticons are OUT and the full suite of emojis are IN. BBCode has been removed completely in favor of a more robust WYSIWYG editor. The logo has been refreshed. Coming soon: We will be restoring the ability to register and sign in with popular web services like Google, Twitter, and Facebook. And there is much more to come in the days and weeks ahead! Stay tuned for more updates. Regrettably, the old Shoutbox was not able to be carried over to the new site. We are looking into our options when it comes to real-time discussion, including integration with services like Discord, which many of you already use. This will also be addressed within the coming days. Please reach out if you encounter any issues, either by PM or by emailing [email protected].

  4. I just have found a very rare news open of WLNE from 1994-1995 (skip to 5:03).

  5. You also forgot to mention their tweets which said "We also offer our stations reporting from the Beltway and beyond that are not partisan or bias in any way." And "we are committed to fair, unbiased journalism". You would think their PR department would have something more believable by now. https://mobile.twitter.com/WeAreSinclair/status/1067926594818199552

  6. More like Sinclair has gone from the Washington Times to Breitbart and Infowars.... Probably being phased in when either software or hardware changes are made with the WX Central or Baron systems. These systems are much more standardized than the various CG systems throughout the company, and the base graphics are often pre-loaded.

  8. I'll be headed to two markets this time around. The first one is a market that is small, yet compilation-worthy and that market is Terre Haute, and I'll be starting off with a rare occurrence, and that is a PBS station having a compilation, and that station is WVUT. As for the second one, it's a wait and see.

  9. In think curiousity over how they would report the Megyn Kelly news certainly earned them some new viewers, but they’ve been trending toward closing the total viewer gap for quite some time now. It was only a matter of time. GMA has lost its energy and forcing Strahan on viewers as a hard news journalist is part of the reason.
