  1. Never seen this before: Interesting 1987 interview of President Reagan by the network anchors: Dan, Peter, Tom and Bernard.

  2. KSNB (KOLN's sister) came calling.

  3. KMTV has been lost for years. The problem is that WOWT and KETV are able to pad their Omaha market viewership, and ad revenue, with significant viewership in the Lincoln market (due to relatively weak affiliates), while KMTV gets major pushback from KOLN.

  4. Apparently the building was demolished only a few weeks after they filmed that: the tapes are apparently gone.

  5. Always wondered what that building looked like inside. Back in the '80s it had a giant Proud "N" on the front when they were with NBC.

  12. Wow, more Arizona news from 1995. This time, the story is the OJ verdict. At one point, KSAZ opts to cut to KTTV's coverage. At 1:55:49, a brief feed loss reveals a CNN Newsource slate. There's also coverage from some other outlets toward the end, including Hard Copy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0zmqrxFeRY There's also coverage of other events from AZ here: the 1987 papal visit including the full Mass done at Sun Devil Angel Stadium, where they had to cover the "Devil" up at the Pope's request! and a 1997 Motley Crue concert that featured a riot. This is late 1997 — note the "NEWS" in the Fox 10 News logo now stretches the width of the logo.

  14. Some WNYT coverage of the 2002 Olympics - plus a promo for its weather team of four meteorologists, and a glimpse at Kelly Lynch doing the weekend news in her second of three stints there. Fun fact: I listen to her and Chuck Custer every morning!

  15. You thought that WNYT clip on the River Rats was nostalgic? This clip from 20 years ago is beyond amazing (plus a young Rodger Wyland!!!!)

  16. What happened to Clark Powell? I know he became a station correspondent for NBC News after NBC bought WCMH, but is he still in television? And his co-anchor... Holly Hollingsworth. She was one of the first employees let go post-sale.

  17. 1978: From a Chicago broadcast, a GMA weather update with John Coleman, with a promo from fill-in anchors Jim McKay (ABC Sports) and Joan Lunden (WABC), before her tenure as host.

  18. Both of these have lingered on the Internet Archive for some time as back in the day WNYT's video was downloadable in .WMV format. The 50th Anniversary was treated as a bigger deal by the morning crew as I remember Phil & Paul having Wayne White (the engineer in said video, who stayed until a year short of his 2015 death) live in studio and at least one other old clip being played. That lost dog story seems to be superfluous on the surface but anyone familiar with the area knows it was a big deal. John Nigro, the pet parent in question, is a major developer of retail properties in upstate New York and while anyone with the means would do that it seemed a little over the top. Also, the graphics blatantly showed that WNYT produced said ad.

  19. A Halloween impersonation prank from WNYT, 2001. This gives a rare glimpse into their former secondary set, eventually disused in 2004 but with the backdrop recycled for their temporary set currently in use. This video began a tradition of goofy Halloween closes at the station which continues to this day
