  1. You'll have to forgive Eat News. He and Regis have a bit of a history with each other. Every since the vicious taunting, Eat News sees Regis everywhere and this causes him to boldly address TVNT posters' wild misconceptions regarding ratings versus billings.

  3. A few years ago, I remember seeing a video of a WPBF newscast from around 2006, and they were still using the camera graphics. But by that time almost all the other Hearst stations were already using the rings graphics. Perhaps WPBF was one of the last stations to receive the updated graphics at the time (most stations continued using the camera graphics into 2005 but got the rings graphics later that same year). WPBF also debuted the floating logo graphics rather late; they were introduced in September 2009 on the same day they rolled out a new set.

  4. I think CBS, not TEGNA, forced that change.

  6. Let's say this type of thing happened with a station owner of a major group. The investors would be calling for their heads, advertisers would pull their accounts, and the FCC could strip them of their licenses. It all depends on the "abuse" aspect....if it was consensual, that's one thing. It's a sin in it's context, but that's another ballgame in the eyes of the FCC beyond their jurisdiction. This saga will probably keep on going until Rev. Angley goes upstairs, or the money runs dry and the sheriff sale sells the property to the highest bidder....

  7. I won, because I bet a co-worker the blackout would end before the government shutdown would end.

  8. I see. It appears that in 2009 the refreshes coincided with more stations going to HD and they seemed to be standardized for the most part. The tickers, lower thirds, and the full screen graphics templates appear to be the same (or extremely similar - guess equipment wasn't as standardized then). The openings and the full screen backgrounds appear to be where they differed.

  9. Well...the Ernest Angley saga has taken a disturbing turn.... I'll leave it at this article posted in today's Akron Beacon Journal (and it's only the first part!) https://www.ohio.com/news/20190119/rev-ernest-angley-admitted-sexual-encounter
