  2. I am going to share something you need to see; it's a video of the CBS NBA wraparounds that aired as part of game four of the 1990 NBA Eastern Finals. In the video, it features legendary CBS Sports announcer Don Robertson doing a piece called "As The Playoff World Turns." You'll love this one and it can be seen at 1:06 into the video.

  3. That's the thing. Social Media is Social Justice Warrior for everything. Had that gaffe happened as deflate-gate just developed, at best he would've been suspended, not fired. Put the employer at a poor light? What standards? How extreme. The employer had to cover their asses when it flamed on social media, get real. The peeps in freakin' Steeler Country are laughing their asses off, not embarrassed. Let's face it, It ISN'T that far off from the truth. I was gonna say it reminded me of KTVU "Ho lee fuk" gaffe, but...i digress. *jets fan here*-editor's note

  7. Because CBS has the Super Bowl this weekend, here's a CBS Sports Desk update from 2003 with Tim Brando and a Honda Sports Desk with Jim Nantz from 1999 (the latter of which usually ran during 60 Minutes, and still does today, under the name CBS Sports HQ). And a bonus Honda Sports Desk featuring Gus Johnson in rare form:

  10. Oops, I clicked right on the recent post in the “Classic Video” correct when I opened up TVNT, without looking at what thread it was posted in. Will move this to the correct thread.

  11. Yeah, I think this should be in the main "Classic Video" thread, since it is a clip of a partial newscast.

  12. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone at KVII and the Montgomery family. I would also like to make very clear that now is not the time to make any comments about Sinclair regarding this situation. This could have happened anywhere.

  13. KVII director Malcolm Montgomery passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning at the age of 27, while he was making preparations for that morning's edition of ABC 7 News Daybreak. Steve Kersh, the station's chief meteorologist, disclosed on his Facebook FastCast feature on KVII's Facebook page that the station canceled that day's edition of its morning and 11:00 a.m. newscasts as a result of Montgomery’s death. We at TVNT send condolences to Malcolm's family and the KVII staff.
