  2. The Chew was more popular than a lot of people gave it credit for. My dad loved the show and was sad when they took it off, to the point of hating Strahan. I personally wish they’d just do an hour of game shows but that’s just me.

  4. Honestly, The Chew was taken down by the Mario Batali sexual harassment claims. If Mario hadn't been accused, then The Chew would still probably be on the air.

  8. "go away"??? where are they going to go??? gray and nexstar own over 300 stations combined... if they had to "go away" i can assure you many of those would cease to exist... poof... it will happen... eventually... there will be no buyers left... and it will be easier to liquidate assets and shut down... than wait around and try to sell off... happens all the time in a lot of industries... restaurants... stores (how many retailers have gone bankrupt in the past 5 years???) and one day it will happen to tv... then you will wish the grays and nexstars were still around... these companies are keeping the industry from reaching mach speed on the down slope to the end...

  9. Here's related source material for that clip. The station's promotions department posted some portions of their 1989 sales presentation. The first one here is for news, the second featuring their 6-10am morning schedule- World News This Morning, Eyewitness News This Morning, Good Morning America, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

  13. Also, in an apparent surprise move, Chris Berman returned to SportsCenter yesterday evening with his traditional "The Blitz" segment featuring the day's NFL highlights. Looks like ESPN decided to not announce it ahead of time. Back in September, we were told that Berman was only being brought back for 5 short pre-recorded Friday segments throughout the NFL season and that there was no agreement in place for him to do highlights. New ESPN management is now working with him to try to get him to work select Sundays throughout NFL season. He's already got personal plans in place most Sundays, but ESPN hopes to bring him back for about 25% of the Sundays this season. https://nypost.com/2018/08/20/the-head-of-espn-is-behind-chris-bermans-tricky-return/ I know Berman has his detractors, but man, did I miss his unique style of reading the highlights this past year and a half.
