Yep they have found something that resonates with the audience for sure but the product is so horrible. GMA is a shell of its former self in the worst way.3 points

I'm sure they can coordinate with each other, if needed, especially if a storm is close to the edge of each other's market. But each station has their own chopper, I think. Here's an older picture of the choppers from both KWTV and KOTV.2 points

Given the prominence of the helicopter in severe weather coverage AND the sponsorship, that sponsorship probably offsets the cost quite a bit. I've watched tornado coverage on KFOR numerous times and they say "Bob Moore Chopper 4" like every 3 minutes. You NEVER hear a sponsorship uttered that many times on television newscasts.2 points

Most likely KFDX (and the other Nexstar stations throughout the Lone Star State) carry the original report from KXAN (Austin) and I imagine when they're covering issues affecting Oklahoma they'll use KFOR (same for KNWA, KSNF/KODE, KTAL and KAMR since their markets cover portions of Oklahoma)1 point

That happens a lot with various stations. For instance, when I'm visiting Knoxville, I'll watch WATE's newscasts. I notice a lot of collaboration on reports between them and WKRN--by that, I mean they'll carry a report originally for WKRN, if it's of any interest to Knoxville or the state at large. I would expect that with other Nexstar stations as well. Pretty soon my home market will have a Nexstar station...WJZY. Given that we are a NFL market, I would expect them to share their reports with other Nexstar stations, and vice versa.1 point

I think KFDX must've collaborated with KFOR to cover the shooting at the Walmart in Duncan which KFOR DID send a reporter to Duncan (Stephens County, which is assigned to the Wichita Falls-Lawton DMA) and then perhaps the KFOR reporter filed the report for KFDX1 point

Nexstar will probably leave KFOR alone for the most part. If they can leave stations like WFLA, WOOD and WAVY well enough alone, they should be able to leave KFOR well enough alone as well.1 point

I'm sure it has to be frustrating for him to have to do some of the tabloidish silly content on the show. I really liked the dynamic when it was Groege, Robin, Lara, Josh and Sam. It was still tabloidish but watchable. The show feels crowded and over the top now. I like Michael Strahan, but they should just keep him on sports and maybe entertainment. Have Robin & George at the forefront more, get more "intellectual" content like there was under Hartman, Lunden, Gibson and Sawyer, and bring back that relaxed vibe. But they're still #1, so they've found what works for them.1 point

Not only as an overflow newscast for KRBK but also maybe perhaps as an overflow newscast for KOLR in the event a CBS Sports telecast ran long as well. I think Nexstar made the right call with the regulations the FCC had in place at the time to pull off a triopoly by acquiring KRBK1 point

Now that I think about it maybe perhaps KOZL reruns KRBK's 6:30pm newscast in case KRBK airs a Fox Sports telecast that runs into the 9pm newscast they can just simply air the newscast on KOZL1 point

Some shocking news from the KOLR10 studios. A van drove through their security gate and starting speaking some weird unintelligible stuff. They were arrested. Damaged some vehicles and a satellite dish at the station. Literally just saw this and thought it was important enough to share. (The story only takes up the first 1:45 or so of this video.) Hopefully they get the help they need.1 point

Apparently KFOR still has the budget to send reporters out of state as Dylan Buckingham was sent to Morgantown, West Virginia to cover the Oklahoma State-West Virginia game. KFOR claims that they were the only OKC station to send a reporter to the game. https://kfor.com/2019/11/23/cowboys-lead-west-virginia-after-one-quarter/ You'll need to watch the video.1 point

Looks like no reply yet, but I would like to add: WCVB received updated "floating logo" opens in 2009 and 2011. However I would like to know exact dates in those years. Also, when was the "#" added in front of "WCVB" in their diagrid bug? And when in 2003 was WCVB's slogan changed from "Coverage You Can Count On" to "Local Live Coverage You Can Count On"? Side note: Interesting that KCCI used both Image News and B Package/Revolution at the same time. I wonder if they used one or both for closes. Also, did WDSU use talent opens during the camera/B Package era, and did KOAT use talent opens between 1999 and 2004? I know they did late in the camera era in 2004, when they were using the NMC music package and weird opens for Hearst-Argyle at the time.1 point

Fair question, it shouldn't matter. The only people that would be concerned are the NBC affiliates that air her show, but aren't they contracted to air her show regardless of content? If that is real and she does get the interview, it will be a big get. It will certainly help her and the show. Until today's social media post, Lauer has been on stealth mode, it would be good to get his side of the story.1 point

It's now been a very sad weekend with the loss of two good news and sports legends; WNYT's Ed Dague and WHTM's Gregg Mace. They'll forever be called dedicated and trustworthy broadcasters in their own prime. Mace was Central Pennsylvania's popular sports director/anchor/reporter when it comes to Central PA's sports of all sorts for over 40 years. And Dague is the Capital Region's most trusted news anchor and reporter. From the halls of justice to everyday people in Albany, NY, breaking news, good news; Dague made a true difference in his 50+ years in to journalism. They'll never be another Gregg Mace and Ed Dague... They're forever and always legends in their prime. Mace and Dague are Central PA and Capital Region institutions, and they'll never be forgotten. Thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the families of Ed Dague and Gregg Mace. RIP, Gregg and Edward... and Godspeed.0 points
