Very interesting and I wonder what exactly NBC has lined up for him. He should be very careful. Just ask Josh Elliott and Sam Champion, both were promised to be featured across all their platforms when they moved to the NBCUniversal family. Elliott had a lot of pushback from the Today show club and wasn't actually utilized well on NBC Sports while Champion sort of flopped with his own morning show at The Weather Channel. I understand the idea of wanting a new challenge and professional growth, but Llamas had a really great role and had great visibility at ABC News.

I was thinking about that today. The RSNs were first rebranded as Fox Sports Net on 11/1/96. So the networks used the Fox Sports/FSN branding for just shy of a quarter-century. An entire generation of viewers know the networks as only that, having never experienced the SportsChannel/Prime Network brands that preceded FSN. Once the rebrand officially happens it really will be the end of an era in sports television.

No one's saying to celebrate Lauer, but he was a part of the show's history. The show had no problem keeping him around when ratings were good, they should also have to bear the weight of his disgrace. When you're guilty of enabling, you don't get to erase him from historically important material and act like he never existed. Like 9/11, for example. He was there. Deal with it.
