  4. The Breaking News banner is just so unnecessary and clutters an otherwise decent L3. Breaking News - LIVE - SPECIAL REPORT - NEWS. Choose 1 or 2.

  5. He's the CBS Marketing Agency Creative Director (https://www.cbsmarketingagency.com/team). It's about time the O&Os work with someone other than Rey Rodriguez for their group design.

  7. An ultra rare KFMB newscast from April 25, 1967, back when they still branded their news as "This Day 196X". There's lots of switching back and forth between color and black & white, mainly during commercials and field reports:

  8. WCCO's weather graphics on their website now have this logo in the corner. Question of the day- preview of a new graphics package (that has a Scripps feel), or just a logo stamp on the maps?

  9. What could go down at KFDM just goes to show you why Sinclair is in the predicament it's in..... Not only did they take over KBTV (thanks to Nexstar selling it out to Deerfield) They made a major expansion at their facility about 5 years ago... (before....in 2013) (During construction....in 2016). which is located RIGHT on the access road by a major junction of I-10.... Then came the "move" of KBTV to KFDM, consolidating their grip over both stations..... And now this. What a waste. I'll bet you the old KBTV space at the mall has been leased. and the original KJAC/KBTV studios were destroyed by fire after KBTV switched to FOX.

  10. You bet-- not only do I enjoy that, but I like the same thing when it comes to print; I have a growing collection of old-school newspapers from when I was a boy (and at least one from before that); papers these days, just like television news, are not what they used to be.

  11. By the way, if anyone is interested in supporting Sloan's situation, use the hashtag #FreetheAirchive so YouTube could know.

  12. Chris Sloan will be back soon. And I mentioned this before on Discord and here's Sloan's statement. "Working on it. We weren't notified at all about this issue so we were shocked. We are appealing. - Chris Sloan" End of statement.

  13. Pisses me off to no end. I loved Sloan's channel, and I too am worried that NewsActive3's channel might be taken down. I love old school newscasts, promos, theme music, as the next homie. I especially saw some of Denver's content from 1992 (KUSA, KCNC and KWGN). I'll start cussing up a storm if something happens to old school TV news content on YouTube. Moreover, seeing these promos and newscasts again brings back memories, even for me as a kid in the 80s loving newscasts.

  14. Beginning of a WVEC weekend 6pm newscast from June 1988, the lead story being the implosion of the First American Bank building in Downtown Norfolk Weather forecasts from legendary Tidewater forecasters Andy Roberts (WTKR) and Joe Foulkes (WVEC) from 1986 and 1988, respectively

  15. Well the KCWX PRM is back on again. I think the reason they withdrew was that they the forgot to attach the actual "petition for rulemaking" PDF. They only posted the engineering part. So on page 1-2 of the petition PDF, it stated this: So if a UHF allotment is not available now, why expect it be available later.......

  17. What are you even talking about? Everything you’re saying is entirely speculative and should be put into the speculation thread rather than stated here as fact. Racial disparities are present in American media but when you have an issue with it you can engage in respectful discourse and in an appropriate setting - you CANNOT use terms like “latinize” or refer to an “hermano” connection without understanding the microaggression in those statements. One of the more unqualified broadcasters is a lead anchor of the top rated morning program in this country resulting in diminished roles for the other qualified talents and would you ever be ok with someone referring to his ascension as a “brotha” connection? As a black man as well, I would find it to be entirely offensive. Correct yourself.

  18. A whopping 16 months. This first open, from August 5, 1996, appears to be the launch of the new theme, and the old open being used well into July certainly backs that up. The second open is from January 12, 1998, and that's when they hit the factory reset, restoring order. Peter references the changes at the top of the show.

  19. The land is more valuable than the operation, unfortunately. I feel badly for the people at KFDM, but it is a small market. It is a rare situation for people to work at that market size for a long time.
