  1. Because the dumbass consultants thought it was a good idea. That's why.

  2. Gotta get that Gray trademark on everything (WBAY launched a "First Alert Fastcast on Facebook" this morning, which I'm sure Jeff Laurence loved to say )! I'm surprised the smoke alarm company hasn't challenged them for dilution despite their different industries.

  3. KOSA debuted the beehive graphics. I’m so over the first alert branding. This might be the dumbest variation of it yet.

  4. Abrams show is filmed in the same building (Daily News Building) as WPIX. Where exactly is unclear.

  5. Dylan Dryer posted on Facebook this morning that viewers won’t be seeing her for a while. Her water broke Sunday evening 6 weeks early said doctors are doing everything they can to make sure her new baby cooks a little longer but Dylan mentioned she’s doing fine and baby is fine and that possibly a new baby could be born this week.

  6. Going by what it was before WRNN bought them out, this looks like a good-faith purchase; the programming statement from Allen basically says ShopHQ is gone the moment the sale goes through, and they'll try their best to restore the old Filipino/Japanese schedule. I really hope this is a good sign that RNN is beginning to realize that throwing home shopping on their stations isn't doing anything for their bottom line. And going by this last note on their website where KIKU's staff basically threw them under the bus (rightfully so), Richard French and friends will not be getting a friendly Aloha out the door from the people actually staffing the station. And for all that we feared Byron would start a court-show only network and ditch major network affiliations, he's been a good steward and been wise about where and when to put his shows on these stations otherwise.

  7. He must be having a hard time finding someone to carry those scripted court shows. On some real stuff, I'd rather see a station carry those than be a dumping ground for infomercials. And besides, everyone else has multiple stations in Hawaii so why not? Now if RNN would sell everything else, or at least the stations that could be reasonable duopoly bait and provide a second outlet for news and syndicated shows.

  8. Looks like they’re taping the show in WPIX’s broom closet

  9. Part of this issue has to do with how management treats them.

  10. KATU is not airing morning and afternoon news today so their staff can attend a mental health event. Their 11pm news will air as scheduled.

  11. January 1995 at KWGN Denver...Channel 2 was independent NO MORE. At that time, KWGN signed up to become the affiliate of the then-new WB Network (now CW). The WB launched on January 11, 1995. On the same night following the WB programming, KWGN launched a brand new newscast that had it all: new theme music, new news set, a 15-minute sports segment, and the latest in weather technology. All this to reflect the WB launch.

  13. He has a point to his argument but I think this could put a nail in his coffin at the station. It's been a fraught relationship between him and the station lately and I don't think it's going to get any better. I haven't watched KTVU's coverage but other competing stations, like KNTV, added about 60 seconds as a separate story to address the disparities in media coverage and I thought that balanced the issue well. If anything, him delivering the lines would've been awkward enough, but a solution like that of KNTV's would've done well.
