  2. The construction part is near completion if not completed for the studios and offices. Right now there is no radio equipment or computers in the new studios or office space. I imagine it’s still going to be months before GKB fully moves out of Radio City. The Avenue is turning out to be a very nice place (and that whole stretch of Wisconsin Ave). There is a lot of empty space in Radio City already. it use to house Journal’s TV and radio executives. When GKB radio leaves I wouldn’t be surprised if more than half the building would be unused. GKB will have as many people downtown as Scripps employs in Milwaukee. Last I heard Scripps has no plans for the radio space or executive offices.

  3. WWE's ratings have remained relatively stable while the rest of linear TV collapses, so they've suddenly become a hot commodity in the sports rights fee arms race. Will they stick to linear or go to streaming? The next round of negotiations will be interesting to keep an eye on.

  4. Depending on the market and how much news the station does, even a team of 5 can get stretched thin. Having a sixth can greatly reduce workload and allow for special projects. Yes, they're adding students from Mississippi State as part of their team. Two of them are juniors and one in grad school (which is highly unusual to have a meteorology master working in broadcast). WCBI also does this to a far smaller degree. There's only 3, maybe 4, there.

  5. Hopefully CNN can go back to some more credible, hard news journalism that has been 'zucked up' in the past few years.

  6. I imagine most of you saw that NFL hall-of-famer Len Dawson (Chiefs, KMBC-TV, HBO, etc.) died today at age 87. KMBC-TV is in the middle of an hour-long special about Dawson. You might check their website at a later time to see if they upload the whole thing.

  7. According to SBJ, this was a one-off transaction due to “an aggressive and willing buyer,” and it isn’t necessarily a harbinger for the sale of other NBC RSNs. Monumental reportedly plans to merge NBCS Washington with their existing streaming service.
