  1. It was also seen on a Michelle Gallardo package during the 6pm today, too.

  2. It isn't really coincidental. The new guys running CNN used to run CBS This Morning.

  3. [disclaimer, fully pessimistic views below] I've just been passively following along all of these developments from the network since they announced these changes, and I just feel kind of dead inside staring at what seems to be a limp fish. I'm just imaging that they're going to keep evolving and evolving and evolving their program lineups until it all spontaneously combusts or something. Alisyn Camerota and John Berman and the New Day format worked well, having built up all of that "goodwill" particularly during the 2016-2020 era, and there was never a need to break them up, and you could see that dissent from all the viewer reactions in their comments sections. Brianna always did best when she was given her own seat and platform, without a doubt. The 2021 changes really never made any sense to me. And of course, the guy who really spearheaded these changes isn't even there anymore. So here we are with another new morning program -- does Don Lemon really appeal to the center for a morning show, if they're supposedly trying to move away from their purported progressive reputation? OTOH, does Poppy Harlow really get any progressive-leaning viewer on the edge of their seats to hear her perspectives? Everyone wants to eat their cake and have it too in the morning business, but I can't be the only person who ultimately thinks that their former schedule had slightly more substance for the network to begin with. I'm just not sensing any clear direction here, because as the old adage goes, by trying to please everyone, they please no one.

  4. What weird parallels CNN and CBS have had lately. First was the CBSTM graphics which is heavily inspired by CNN, now CNN seemingly taking inspiration from CBS's morning show. The latter might be reading into it a bit, but it's still two very interesting "coincidences" with them.

  5. We finally have a name... CNN This Morning. CNN This Morning will launch from a temporary studio in New York while it's new set is being built. "The show’s new theme will be “bringing the world home” to the audience, the network will be trying some new technical tricks, and will keep viewers up-to-date with on-screen reminders of segments on the show that are still to come." CNN SVP of Content Strategy Ryan Kadro said. CNN TM will launch November 1st at 6AM ET. Sound familiar? Like what was said when Chris & Ryan launched CBS This Morning.... “We’re going to put the full power of CNN’s newsgathering on display because we can do that better than anybody” I'll believe it when I see it... 7. This article from the Cincinnati Enquirer says the debate aired on WSTR, which means they shared with Sinclair, which in turn means they didn’t keep it to themselves. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2022/10/10/j-d-vance-tim-ryan-how-to-watch-u-s-senate-debate-tonight/69553404007/

  8. Brigit Mahoney is hosting tonight's edition of America's Weather Tonight. I'm guessing her and Ian will rotate on a nightly basis. Also, I was surprised to see that this rotation of America's Weather Tonight and Fox Weather Live now starts at 10pm ET instead of 11pm ET, so this means that the 10pm hour formerly occupied by Fox Weather Wild and assorted long form specials is now gone. The pre-recorded America's Weather Tonight segment airs at :00 and :30 of every hour from 10pm-1am ET, and it's the same segment each time, so it does feel a little stale over time. Tonight's edition was still just a couple of weather maps and 90% stories and pre-recorded reports and interviews from earlier in the day. There was a little less Hurricane Ian aftermath coverage tonight and a little more assortment of stories. Every hour from 10pm-1am ET is structured as: :00 America's Weather Tonight :15 Fox Weather Live - automated maps :30 America's Weather Tonight :45 Fox Weather Live - automated maps
