  1. Ever since Rob Hughes left for WLS, it’s been Lana solo at 4:30am, Don Shipman and Lana at 5am & 8am, and Brooks & Gurvir from 6-8am and 9am.

  4. Beginning today, KGTV moved their morning news up to 5am. “Early Rush” from Scripps News now occupies the 4:30am half hour. https://www.tvpassport.com/tv-listings/stations/abc-kgtv-san-diego-ca/1877 This certainly follows the creeping trend of stations vacating the 4am hour, and it’s also indicative of Scripps’ plan to integrate Scripps News with their local TV stations.

  6. Now WFXT is starting their weekday morning news at 4:30 AM again. Boston is an unusual TV market where you have five local news stations, when some markets ahead of them (in terms of DMA rank) have no more than four. All five local news stations were airing live local news at 4:30 AM, until a few months ago, when WHDH decided to move their morning news start time back to 5 AM.

  7. That has been known for a while about that coming to Gray stations. If you go to the search bar on a certain station’s home page and type in InvestigateTV+ an article will come up just like that one for most stations that tells what time(s) it will be airing this fall. WBTV will be airing it at 3:30pm which if they keep QC at 3, will cut it to 30 minutes. (Not trying to get a list started).

  8. Can we maybe start an "Anything and Everything Wrong with KTRK" thread, move the relevant posts there, and keep this thread just about the changing graphics at ALL the ABC O&O stations, not just KTRK? When kept on topic, I've found the posts and discussions about what we've seen overall at WLS and in weather on some of the others very interesting.

  9. It's a base graphics package that both stations' meteorologists have customized for their needs. If you don't like the way it looks on KTRK, well, that's the way their meteorologists have decided to use it. It's essentially a LEGO set. They were sent a box of parts, and this is how they've assembled them. There's nothing more that can be said about this.

  12. One ounce of research would make it fairly clear that Tamron is returning for the new season, while Rachael Ray has ended. Therefore, Tamron is moving to afternoons.

  14. Former longtime WALA chief meteorologist John Edd Thompson was attacked at a gas station this past Tuesday. https://www.fox10tv.com/2023/07/28/retired-fox10-chief-meteorologist-john-edd-thompson-attacked-81st-birthday/ Thankfully, he is ok. Why someone would do this to an 81 year old man, even one that is considered legendary in the Mobile area is absolutely sickening.

  15. I think it looks pretty damn good for a virtual set. Impressive work by NBC.
