  1. That live update open is slick. Love how they kinda echo the ABC Times Square studio exterior.

  2. After over 11 and a half years, WGAL is about to say goodbye to Studio B. New set makes its premiere on Tuesday afternoon. I wonder if this is Studio A. Not sure. But … finally! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kristin-kay-315b44111_so-much-hard-work-and-brain-power-over-the-activity-7111802338553552896-S1XR — Matt

  3. He not really for working for PIX is he? Isn’t the show syndicated? He’s not really working for their news division. So technically still WNBC and WPIX

  4. Yeah the live update open is more appealing to me because it’s dynamic without being too busy like the opener.

  6. The NHL preseason has begun, and we've already got Monumental's new graphics A little big for my liking, but it's pretty much just a flatter version of the ESPN one so there's nothing revolutionary here.

  7. It would at least allow writers to write scripts for shows, and hopefully a framework for a deal with SAG-AFTRA. Assuming a deal is reached tonight. They won't negotiate tomorrow due to the holiday.

  8. Even if SAG wasn’t on strike right now, a good number of scripted shows wouldn’t be anywhere near returning until scripts begin to get hashed out for the season, whatever shape that season ultimately takes.

  9. While this is good, it doesn't really mean anything in terms of fall shows coming back anytime soon because of the SAG-AFTRA strike still going on. The late night shows will probably come back soon though.

  10. Did they look at the negative ratings records they set with CW Now before they ditched that timeslot and decide 'we can do much worse'?

  11. I wouldn’t say so actually; if there are any bugs/glitches, better to sort them out on a Saturday morning than during the week when more people are watching.

  12. I admit I'm surprised more stations don't do this and that this wasn't a thing when UPN and WB were in operation. At least this would have technically been good for ratings.

  13. Not all situations are comparable. Chris Cuomo crossed a huge ethical line. That doesn’t mean every other person related to a public figure in hot water is going to cross a line. Keep her off covering that story, fine. If there is evidence she crosses a line, do what needs to be done. Don’t assume a problem where one is not indicated and stymie her career for something she did not do.

  15. WLNY (at least the Long Island feed) was allowed to air Oprah at 7PM during her run. They somehow got the rights to air quite the number of high-profile syndicated series before CBS bought them (ie, Jeopardy and Wheel aired at 6pm, and I think before the sale they were airing at 5pm). One relic from that era that still exists is that they air an hour of Judge Judy at 10pm.

  16. James Murdoch would be the son that wanted to go more towards a “straight News” approach. He was push out of the company in a power struggle with Lachlan
