  1. I saw it on X/Twitter, I don't know if we can trust it. But it looks like this is going to be the new set for the CBS Evening News

  2. During the Hulman years, WTHI had a strong lead in the market. Cause the Hulman had this little race track in Indianapolis, they made a little money off of it and spent a good amount of money and resources for WTHI-TV and radio. They had the first live trucks in Terre Haute, more anchors, reporters, a farm reporter, and nice sets. WTWO was so bad that at one point, the opening credits logo was the welcome sign in the lobby. Today, WTWO is putting on a better product than WTHI and is starting to grab more people.

  3. It broke my heart seeing this confirmed. Everyone was expecting, but it doesn’t make it easier. I grew up watching WTHI and I was lucky enough to work with both for a couple of years. Patrece trained and mentored me. Both are amazing souls and talented individuals that are loved deeply by their colleagues and the community. WTHI will never be the same….

  4. You "guess it is still too scandalized?" My goodness, that's an understatement. Matt Lauer is persona non grata at NBC. He will never be allowed back on "Today" in person, even if it's a one-off appearance to wish a former co-worker well. NBC would sooner bring back J. Fred Muggs (kids, ask your grandparents) than Lauer. As for where Matt Lauer is now? Probably still laying low in the NYC area.

  5. I think Nora's Washington set is the best of the big three and I would have liked a recreation of that. At first glance this okay but definitely not better than the Washington set. Overall, It's remarkable how CBS went from the network with the worst sets to the best sets. IDK who their current design consultant is but stick with them!

  6. This is the final straw for me. I've officially lost all respect for Allen. I hope they sell soon because Allen has no place in broadcasting.

  7. Impressive. Of course, a complete and definitive look and reveal comes during its debut. But honestly, I'm ready and excited for what's to come.

  8. Methinks Nexstar wants that shot that way so it shows off all of their branding in one shot. But the "only one person in the studio" could ring true as well.

  9. It sounds like it's akin to the CBS/Viacom split, where Sumner Redstone still controlled both - although he clearly favored Viacom, which kept the "sexier" Paramount Pictures, MTV Networks and BET, over CBS.

  10. I think the CBS Evening News may be the best network broadcast, both journalistically and aesthetically. And Nora O'Donnell is polished, polite, and professional. I just don't understand why they are making these talent changes. Well, nevermind, I guess it all comes down to the ratings and the demographics. But I thought Nora otherwise was doing an excellent job. In previous generations, growing up, my preferred news anchors were Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and then I transitioned to Peter Jennings.

  11. It'll be interesting to see what the Republican-controlled FCC has to say about it...

  12. This is a comment out of left field, but I'll say it anyway. I think the CBS Evening News is better off calling itself the "CBS Evening News" - if you know what I mean. Leave out the "with Jeff Glor" part. And just focus solely on the "CBS Evening News" part. Period. I think it's a stronger brand like that.

  13. Poor and givivg up? Really? ABC's World News Tonight, World News Now, America This Moning, Good Morning America Weekend, Nightline AND 20/20 have shared the same space (and sets) for years, and no one said crap about them being poor. And funny thing, (almost) all of them are (in some ratings) #1! Thing is, CBS could've built a new set for the Evening News, but chose not to because the CTM set has and does everything EN would need for its' presentation to emphasize it's preference of substance over style. Just sayin'.

  14. How about ditching the entire anchorman concept all together in favor of a "presenter" type of presentation. That will save about 10mil or more a year right off the top....and millions more in the following years. Rotating "News Readers" ...just like Europe.

  15. I agree. He will never be allowed back on the show at any cost, which is sad, but it is all his doing, and he has himself to blame. Matt lives in the Hamptons full-time and has a new girlfriend (good luck to her). He has so much money that he doesn't need to work for the rest of his life. He occasionally attends social gatherings that other TODAY Shows and former hosts sometimes attend. The year before, he attended the wedding of a TODAY Show producer where T.J Holmes & Amy Robach (Two people who will never likely be allowed back at ABC so they can relate), Savannah, Hoda, Al, and Katie were also in attendance. To have been a fly on the wall at that party!

  16. Once again, Terre Haute has been hit hard. Long time anchor Patrece Dayton and Chief Meteorologist Kevin Orpurt will be out of the station on Thursday. It has been reported that ND Susan Dinkel will become Regional ND.

  17. Angela Pace, apart of the fabric of Columbus Television News. From her time in the late 70s-early 90s at WCMH/NBC4 as anchor/reporter to WBNS/10TV when she joined the station in 1992. Anchor from 1993-2006 and then moved into the community service role for the station. She will leave 10TV next week after 34 years at the station.
