  1. It's as if it has.... [puts on sunglasses] ...no merit.

  3. I don't ever advocate for a religious network to expand their activities of "praising the lord" via the airwaves...(except for maybe EWTN since it's tied to the Catholic Church itself) But in this case, it would be an improvement over the crap-fest that MeritTV is. Why would TBN ever sell their soul in such a way? Oh yeah, it's TBN. Such an odd mix of Dr. Phil, Nancy Grace, and whatever MMA fight is airing in between. And what does any of this have to do with Christianity? Shouldn't Oprah have put a stop to this decades ago? The next best thing is the CTN stations putting Newsmax2 on their subchannel feeds. I"ll stop here before I go ranting any more.

  4. The funny thing is that EWTN and the Vatican have a terrible relationship because of a lot of things, including EWTN's hate of Vatican II. If Rome could start its own American operation with EWTN's carriage, they would dump them in a heartbeat. And sadly, 'Christian television' has become just a euphemism for 'right-wing' content; the local religious station in Milwaukee airs a lot of wingnut shows and full podcasts now, including the Worldview Report, which actually gets an audience as an 'alternative' to the local newscasts at 10 p.m. and The National Desk.

  5. They actually have before, I definitely know they did like the moment Russia invaded Ukraine and as few other times as well.

  6. Maurice was anchoring the Special Report coverage for the Hegseth Pentagon Presser this morning... So there is that.

  7. I'm getting the feeling there should be more competition for weather networks. Both Fox Weather and The Weather Channel suck balls.

  8. You're not wrong; outside of political news ABC's enterprise and investigative journalism has gone down the tubes for true crime sleaziness and 'feel-good' stories which end up not being that (people having to pay lunch debt for instance, a thing that should not exist). A news organization shouldn't be doing trial re-enactments with paid actors like they're doing now with the Sean Combs trial; that's stuff for People and Court TV to do.

  9. Nice bowing down to the Convict-in-chief, ABC. This just put the rest of the news division and the O&Os on notice about criticizing this petulant man-child and the cult members in his administration.

  10. It's a FOX thing. Other O&Os have taken a hatchet to their sports departments too. The preference is to have a single dedicated "sports reporter" who turns stories in the field about whatever the biggest sports story of the day is. The days of four male sports anchors in crisp suits above the waist taking turns reading highlights from the anchor desk and a bunch of sports producers are over.

  11. Don’t be that surprised. WTTG in DC cut theirs years ago, even as the Nationals won the World Series and the Caps won the Stanley Cup. Now, they have a sports reporter who does a handful of sports feature stories a week and then beef up coverage when Washington plays on Fox, esp in the playoffs. But surprisingly, WRC followed through and did the same thing in cutting a regular sports segment. JP Findlay (formerly of NBC Sports Washington) does segments for them as warranted. He does more travel w/ the team, but the days of George Michael and the 5-minute sports block are long gone.
