  4. So, I've been collecting VHS and Betas for over a decade. I always try to snag small-market eBay lots whenever they still exist...and a recent Beta lot was no exception. For OVER A DECADE I have been looking to break the dry spell and digitize some television from this market. A life-long dream has come true, and now TAKE A LOOK AT THIS 1986 NEWS PROMO FOR KXGN GLENDIVE!!!!!! (At 5:58) And to sweeten the deal, here's half of the KUMV Williston Night Report from 9/26/1986. Most of the newscast originates from KFYR Bismarck, and KUMV cuts in during the second half of the newscast, but the recording cuts off before the end... They had a translator in Glendive for decades I have another BIG KXGN surprise coming, stay tuned

  6. If CBS was a strong brand in LA, they never would have went with the KCAL branding on both stations for almost 3 years. It's not ideal for CBS (or any major network) to not have the network brand featured in the LA market, it was done because the CBS brand was so weak and they felt the more popular KCAL brand would help get CBS out of last place. It's kind of funny they pick now of all times to go with the CBS brand when the CBS brand is probably the weakest it has ever been for LA viewers. CBS Mornings & CBS Evening News are hitting ratings lows, CBS News being run by MAGA extremists, layoffs and cost reductions on the way (although they found enough money to do a pointless rebrand) As one of the other posters above said, CBS is the worst when it comes constantly changing and confusing names. Rebranding CBS This Morning to CBS Mornings made no sense. Having both CBS News Mornings and CBS Mornings makes no sense. Even with this CBS LA rebrand they are doing CBS LA on CBS News Los Angeles and CBS LA on KCAL9.

  7. This is the problem I continually have with CBS News and most of the CBS O&O group. They seem to be in a never-ending rebranding mode. From the CBS News morning show to their streaming news product to their local stations, things are constantly changing. And the branding seems unnecessarily convoluted and confusing. Example: CBS News Mornings (the early am newscast) vs CBS Mornings (the 7-9 morning show), and putting KCAL branding on KCBS because people "like" KCAL better. They touted that the KCAL News brand was stronger than KCBS, and now both are gone in favor of CBS LA, or CBS News Los Angeles, or CBS News LA. Whatever the flavor of the moment is. The two products that haven't changed are 60 Minutes and CBS Sunday Morning. They also happen to be the highest-rated news products CBS has. Hmmm. On a local level WCCO's branding and product have remained consistent...until the suits in New York started tinkering with it...and they are also highly rated. Hmmm. Connection? Nah. Keep playing with the names CBS. The public follows the TV industry so closely that they will easily follow along.

  8. It would have to be a hella lucrative offer and offer him complete and total control over his timeslot. Between The Five and Gutfeld!, evidence is there that he gets to command just about any negotiation. I don't think CBS has the money, nor the willingness to give a host that kind of power. Someone more down-ballot at Fox News is possibly fair game.

  12. Lots of these bug implementations are sloppy and poorly executed. Can we talk about this? If you drop the unnecessary additional boxes behind the logo and just float the calls/number/peacock over the existing noggi, it's a little less terrible and the channel branding could even be slightly larger.

  13. So you decide to criticize her looks? Really?! How derogatory. I say, she has the experience. If she wants to go to Boston, she should. I don't want her career to end because of what's happening with this mess. Kelly is one of the most popular meteorologists in Rhode Island, and I have loved her forecasts over the many years I've gone to Southern New England on vacation. She is absolutely fantastic. I never saw her for her looks. I saw her for her forecasts, her accurate information, and the experience she has to provide complex information in an easy-to-understand way. She should be hired based on her experience, not on her looks. I'm sorry I had to rant but this comment is terrible.

  16. Upon further inspection of the Zap2it TV listings post October 20th, it appears "Charge!" Is also moving to WPMI 15.3 from WEAR 3.3. WEAR 3.3's listings say "Channel is no longer available" after the 20th. As for "The Nest" which currently occupies WPMI 15.3, it will probably move to a yet to be created WPMI 15.4. In order to accommodate "NBC 15" on WEAR 3.2 in HD, that's likely why 3.3 is going away. And if all of WPMI is going to be in SD (aside from WJTC 44.1's 1.0 feed) they have some extra real estate to split between SD subchannels. WEAR carries WJTC's two other subchannels in SD since WJTC is a 3.0 station.
