  1. Are those bottomless pits on either side of the desk?

  3. When do the affiliates start to say something? Every anchor change had tanked viewership even more, and that has got to be affecting the local news on either side of EN. If I were a CBS affiliate where I was also the market leader I would be pissed that this keeps happening. (Yes, there are decent markets where the CBS station is still a market leader)

  4. I hate that I'm always so negative on here (but enough years in the local TV business will do this to you). I mean... it's barely an upgrade and they all look exactly the same. I don't think anyone really stands out here. I also don't know that it is a bad thing. They seem to rule with an iron fist when it comes to standardization, something that some of the other station groups aren't great at. Also, not to go off on a tangent, but does anyone else think it's weird that WCVB still has an old, very dated looking set? They're supposedly a Hearst "flagship".

  5. An IMPORTANT update regarding WSVN 7. WSVN has started the groundbreaking on their new building in Miramar. Its scheduled to open in 2027 and my friend Craig Stevens has shared photos on LinkedIn on its ceremony including... its new future set once it moves in. That new set... wow. The Newsplex is going to impress once again. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/craig-stevens-88067a6_wsvn-fox-abcmiami-activity-7402750480382111744-cVwz?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABqGw-0BrOQ_9csrv95OAtvM37gqLkE_dSc

  6. He been moved to so many shows over the years at CBS in New York he was on multiple timeslots until becoming evening anchor in 2010 for channel 2. They just used him

  7. Skydance or not, CBS News has always been poorly managed since the late 80's. It's become more apparent over the years that CBS News is just a revolving door with no stability and that's from me observing the CBS Evening News and what used to be The Early Show.

  8. Well, that wasn't a good career move.

  10. I was glad his old home of WCBS dedicated some time to this sad news. You could tell how sad Kristine was to break the news. He certainly has the talent, so I'm hopeful that things will work out for him somewhere.

  11. WJCL and WAPT switched to D25 this afternoon, which means all of Hearst's stations are now current.

  12. If I was a major shareholder of WBD, I'd want Paramount Skydance to stay as far away as possible. Nothing but chaos. No strategic planning. No succession planning. And despite the original intent that Maurice would continue with CBS2, that clearly was never the case, and not an option going forward. I hope he and John Dickerson have hefty separation agreements.

  13. I'm posting this from a broadcasting perspective, NOT a political one. Israel has been allowed to participate in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in 2026 in Austria. As a result? Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS (which like NOS is owned by NPO), Spain's RTVE, Ireland's RTE, and Slovenia's RTV won't participate NOR air the song contest this year. https://news.sky.com/story/israel-allowed-to-take-part-in-eurovision-2026-as-at-least-two-countries-withdraw-13479330?fbclid=IwY2xjawOesTZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA80MDk5NjI2MjMwODU2MDkAAR6Isk3z6BHrORJaakFRHidgm72NYsW-RPnRebKfylEVk8DrGRtpMzd_P3LHKg_aem_KbaQcPIPVptwhqXqjo052A

  15. Wow. That is definitely a loss for CBS. Sorry to see him go. He would've done great if he were to stay on solo, let's see the actual next step for EN

  17. John Dickerson announced his “Report’s Notebook” essays won a Walter Cronkite Award. His essays would be prefect for PBS (if it wasn’t for the cuts there also).

  18. I liked the KCAL News brand. It was a bit jarring at first when they switched to KCAL branding full time, but I've grown to really like it. But the eventual name change to CBS News Los Angeles was probably inevitable.
