  2. As far as still owned by the original family signing it on and owning it... Add: KSTP (Hubbard) WBNS (Wolfe) KOBI/KOTI (Smullin) WISC (Murphy [burns]) *KRGV (I think it's been owned by the Manships the entire time) You can also count WGEM, but Quincy, to me, has expanded a bit beyond the point of a mom-and-pop operator despite being a family company. Same goes for original Cox/Hearst stations. And, although, not since "Day 1"...WCAX has been owned by the Martin family for all but the first four years of its existence.

  3. Nexstar's WTAJ Altoona started using two meteorologists this past Monday morning - Christy Shields and hired WJAC's former meteorologist Jim Burton. Jim was released abruptly from WJAC last year.

  4. The deal has not been finalized yet. It has been approved, but not wrapped up. They have 90 days to consummate the deal, but they'll probably close it out far sooner than that. Once it's closed, then you can say "Welcome to Gray, TV5".

  5. Yes. In fact, Diversified signed on WABI. It was family owned since Day 1. Today's that day that WABI is no longer locally owned and operated. Welcome to Gray, TV5.

  6. Did I say they were going to push her out? No. I said, it makes it easier to push her out. And if you've been around this forum for a while, you will know that signing a long-term contract means jack-squat. They can and have pushed out tv personalities with many years left on their contract...

  7. [quote=TexasTVNews, post: 171595, member: 32]Tegna and MGM to launch a live syndicated daytime show in the fall. http://deadline.com/2017/01/bold-daytime-show-syndication-tegna-media-mgm-1201887578/ Follow up. The program that was suppose to been named BOLD, will now be named Daily Blast Live. The program will launch on the Tegna stations instead of a full national syndication launch (in which they weren't able to get clearance in other markets). And it will only produce seven live feeds instead of 13 (which was originally planned).

  8. The WABI/WCJB deal was greenlighted today. The WDTV/WVFX one is still waiting for the greenlight. Sixty-four years of family ownership of television stations is about to come to an end soon.

  9. It's already a competitive market, so they would be foolish to start a new operation IMO. Really, the station should just be sold to Tegna or Scripps and paired with an existing incumbent.

  10. Especially since she went from Hearst to Sinclair. WTF? I rather wait for an opportunity with another station's group owner than Sinclair or Nexstar. Those two companies sound just horrible to work for.

  11. Even though it is a jump from DMA 50 to 7 for Adrianna, that hardly seems like a promotion...

  12. Does anyone know what Hoda's new role is? Seems she's on more with Matt and Savannah in 7&8 hours.

  13. and that many included fox 29 with Rich Noonan & I think Tracey Matisak. Was easier for most fox stations since they only had the 10:00PM news. Ch6 would have more to lose havning Jim Gardner off every Friday evening broadcast, just so he would be there for the 11:00 news on Sunday.

  14. This is the new look of a local TV station's 8:00PM newscast in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, that premiered on Monday, March 20th, 2017. LV81 Canal 12 is affiliated with Canal 13 (Buenos Aires). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6jZGF7dfr0 The thing that I like the most: the music!
