  1. I just felt like stopping by and dropping some thoughts that have been on my mind -- The serious pain of seeing faces you sort of almost felt like you were friends with after watching the news as often as I did in 2020 (the pandemic has seriously warped my concept of time) and then to see them suddenly suffering from glioblastoma and get wrenched away from our presence has been absolutely heart-wrenching. I do not actually live in Atlanta or DC but I fell into a bit of a "local national" news-watching binge during the height of COVID and the unrest that happened later that summer, and Jovita Moore and Wendy Rieger were two of the few anchors that really stuck out to me from that time. They were so calm, composed, and very straightforward, but still had that unique delivery in their onscreen presence. There were moments that just resonate with me (among much reminiscing) - Jovita's absolute calm in the marathon evening session on the first night of Atlanta protests with Jorge or just delivering night after night amid the absolute frenzy of the Georgia elections. Also, Wendy delivering the 5PM in that position she's held for so many years solo at that very desk carried more meaning than ever. And to go through and recover from heart surgery all during that time in 2020; what a freakin' warrior. That very tender heart-to-heart conversation she had with Doreen post-retirement about the direction she wanted to pave for herself and how excited she was to embark on a new chapter was so meaningful because they knew each other for so long and recognized the significance of that moment in their careers and lives. They are simply two local legends (among many that have also tragically left us during this time) who were taken way, way too soon from us in such unforgiving and painful fashion, and that heartbreak is just exacerbated by the fact that this pandemic is still lingering on with us, continuing to warp our collective sense of societal reality. They will be sorely missed.

  3. This is like going from MG’s last graphics package (WCMH, WFLA, WKRN) to Nexstar NBC graphics, a package that is the symbol of failure. Great job, Gray.

  4. Didn't they just hire Jeff Andrews from WAOW a few months ago to be their chief? They seem to go through chiefs (and talent in general) like infants go through diapers. Not to mention, the previous chief, Jason Lindsay, didn't last long in that position either. TG should rent, not buy, once Morris finds out he's not moving the needle.

  6. During the later years of the open newsroom set, it always looked super empty in the area behind the anchor desk; kinda sad looking for a "newsroom" set. Also, I feel like in the modern news era, big video walls are the thing for everyone. I personally am not a fan of having anchors shoved right up against a big video wall with no physical set visible in their solo shots, but alas...

  7. Thank you very much, I've decided I will put all of my concepts on this page. With that being said here is another concept of mine for WCVB Boston, if you have any request please feel free to let me know!

  8. Doing your show from the nation's capital has some advantages... You main anchor stationed there when news breaks in America's largest city isn't one of them.

  9. NYC has one airing of TMZ Hip-Hop on WWOR (Not WNYW) weeknights at 11 PM, temporarily replacing the "E" run of Family Feud. This was also the secondary slot used for the Pictionary test run. Not sure why they couldn't just sacrifice one of the three daily airings of the half-hour regular TMZ on WNYW (6:30p, 4:00a, 2:00p next day).

  10. I never remembered a time where so many "longtime" syndie show get the blade like this. But Fox is going to have to reshuffle the deck. They're losing alot of shows. I know they're getting Jennifer Hudson & Sherri Shephard. Maybe move Divorce Court from the MyNet side to the Fox side since Star Jones will be the new host. But it would be asinine to fill those empty slots [on the Fox side] for another run of TMZ & Extra.

  11. Given the logo, I'm about 85% certain that within 5 years, the brand will drop the Discovery name all together and the company will be known as Warner Brothers.

  12. I"m looking forward to a MythBusters episode where they test the Tom & Jerry antics (they did one on the Simpsons years back!) Same goes for Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote since they've always been a Warner Bros. thing, while T&J came thru the Turner/MGM purchase in the 80s where he ended up with most of the MGM content post-purchase and kept after the re-sale of MGM/UA. And someone earlier mentioned that Jabberjaw and Shark Week are now under the same parent company Next move, could Nexstar trade in their 31 percent ownership of the Food Network(s) subsidiary in exchange for all or part of the CW? We shall see....

  13. On Wednesday, WOTV rebranded from ABC 4 Women to ABC 4 West Michigan. They are taking the focus off of women and making it more community based... I hope this works better for them... ABC 4 Women was absolutely stupid... https://www.woodtv.com/abc4/wotv-4-women-rebrands-to-abc-4-west-michigan/

  14. WVUE being such a strong market leader deserved better. This is worse than WGNO's package. Basic, Bland, Boring. Tegna looks better than this even. They should have stayed with Raycom's graphics if they couldn't do better.
