  1. Not to get too off topic, but is there anything that’s come out to suggest that WPHL will take the 10pm in house when they switch to the CW? From what I remember they were handily beating WTXF at 10pm with WPVI’s newscast, so I’m not sure why they would mess with what’s working. Either way, I doubt that would have too much bearing on when WPVI launches the new graphics.

  2. Nightly did a retrospective of the last 75 years- kind of interesting how much they featured Brian given his unceremonious exit from the anchor chair (it feels like Today has snubbed former hosts for less). Lester ended the broadcast hinting at Mondays changes before stepping off and showing an empty Studio 1A with the old look

  3. No, that's the outgoing wordmark, but with the new ABC.

  4. Would it be this? That's looks fine to me, because the logo is still unique and instantly recognizable, just 2D instead of 3D. On the other hand, the sometimes used sans-serif logo for KTRK's 13 Eyewitness News looks way too generic and lacks any kind of sophistication or class. When you think of Texas, you don't think of a something that's soft and whimsical-looking. So, I think it's much more suitable for California than Channel 13.

  5. I’m assuming Nightly News will move into a renovated studio 3K sometime next year (well before the election) since WNBC is moving to studio 3B. NBC could get a flagship studio for elections and specialty coverage out of the deal and Nightly News will finally have a real home. Studio 3C stays with MSNBC & NBC News Now and studio 1A can get a full, and needed, renovation.

  6. Channel 2 does Robb Ellis so dirty. Weekend mornings...really he's been there for awhile and all these new people always get better shifts he's worth so much more than to be put on a newscast no one is watching.

  8. YouTube TV updated the program key art (maybe this has been posted already) with the new logo, but NBC used a fairly old photo it looks like.

  9. Thread cleaned up and unlocked. The user that initiated the disruption has been banned. In the future, I humbly ask members to use the "report post" function and the block tools built into the forum over "backseat modding" users disrupting a thread. -Weeters

  10. I am pretty sure WPVI is going to wait til September 1st because PHL-17, the network they produce a 10PM newscast for, just announced it is switching its affiliation from MyNetwork to The CW. It wouldn’t make sense to make new graphics for the PHL-17 broadcast when it will only last a few months.

  12. It's like how KCPQ in Seattle acquired repeats of Judge Judy after KIRO, which had aired her for nearly 20 years, dumped syndication for news at 4:00. Ch 13 did have Judge Judy for a brief time in the late '90s.

  13. As was expected. Overall, no big adjustments in shuffling syndicated fare out of 8-10pm and plugging in CW content, but I do wonder if Nexstar will make any attempts at expanding the in-house news department into non-traditional slots for the area (11am hour, 1-3pm, the 7pm hour). Going up against Good Day and the national morning shows is a tall task, this could provide additional news exposure with no (or just one other newscast) competition.

  14. That is exactly what it feels like to me here. They were going to fight... Till they realize that it would be cheaper to merge and have a way to bring in way more cash then it currently does!

  15. That's garbage. It looks like a cheap, off-brand product when compared to the original. Where did you find it?

  19. Does anyone know if something happened to KCBS/KCAL? "KCAL News Mornings" is not having any transmissions made from the studio, only narration and images being interspersed. The weather and traffic is being shown only the graphics on the screen without the participation of the anchor.

  20. Do they have an previous experience making news graphics packages, because it really doesn't look like it. They tweaked the GMA look by basically taking the logo by putting it on a yellow circle. But didn't change much else, like the lower-thirds are nearly identical to before, which I like. I don't really think anyone can call this a "rebrand":
