  1. He's also the weather producer so he's probably driving graphics behind the scenes.
  2. 10 does hard news. 3 does entirely too much fluff to be taken seriously these days. In fact 3 reminds me a lot of 10 bad in the dark days of the Jeff Zucker/John Wallace reign of terror at NBC. They tried to do this "hyperlocal", positive, feature oriented product and no one tuned in to watch.
  3. Never hurts to dream. To their credit though, all of their newscasts are number two, just not the number two Neilsen keeps track of. Lol
  4. Being that 3 is trying to promote itself as the optimistic alternative to the other stations in town (translation: don't look for much hard news there), it doesn't surprise me that they wouldn't mind turning the morning show into a giggle fest. This new thing they're going to try with Nicole Brewer smacks of just that. They're going to end up in 4th place if they keep this up. These light, feature heavy news formats just don't work in this town and every station here that's tried it has tanked as a result of it.
  5. Most likely. They gave both Bill Henley and Glenn Schwartz off yesterday. You figure Saturday is going to be an all hands on deck sort of day.
  6. That's at the Blue Cross Riverrink at Penns Landing. They are the media partner of the Riverfront Corporation.
  7. They've had a posting for the other open meteorologist position for awhile now.
  8. What a dumpster fire that station is. This is starting to look like WCBS back in the early 2000s.
  9. Forgot about Lauren. Maybe either Kyla or Justin fills Kate's old role doing the Noon and splitting the 5PM.
  10. If they keep her then she'll most likely go to weekend mornings to replace Carol Erickson
  11. I wonder if 10 might pick him up. They still could use 5th meteorologist
  12. It's funny you mention that since she's a lawyer herself.
  13. Rosemary has been anchoring with Keith all week. Dunno what's up.
  14. Methinks its time for them to get a new set
  15. She filled in for Tracy on the morning show too.
  16. Lauren Mayk is doing the 11AM today. I wouldn't mind seeing her get a regular anchor shift.
  17. Welp they're hiring full time replacement photogs and techs now. This is getting ugly: http://www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/morning_roundup/2015/10/nbc10-ibew-local-98-photog-strike-replacement-hire.html
  18. nooooooooo. It would be a damn shame if management pushed her out.
  19. They were and still are hamstrung by the strike.
  20. That's a bit harsh. I know for a fact from people I've talked to that their GM loves Jim and will have him there as long as he wants to keep working. I can't speak for anyone above him at ABC but I'm sure you're assessment is accurate when it comes to them just given how little they want to have to do with their stations.
  21. That's until their viewership ages out, then everything you fanboy about will have to change or they'll get left in the dust. Their basic presentation hasn't really changed much in that time span. Yeah it's gotten a modern polish over time but yeah you have the same basic principles in place for the past 40 years but if you really watch closely, what really separates them from everyone else, is that unique time locked presentation paired with talent with familiar faces. Their newsgathering and story telling isn't much different than 10's. They pretty much just have precedence on their side.
  22. Never say never. It's already happened before.
  23. It's a pile of crap because they brought the replacement photographers in a week before the Papal Visit when the union made their strike vote in the first place. That would have given thfem plenty of time to screen and credential anyone that was going to be working the festivities. They're reaching at this point. Also anyone who lives in this region knows this is par for the course the kind of tactics that their union boss John Dougherty pulls all the time. He's going to lead a bunch of his rank and file to pink slips if this keeps up
  24. That's probably how they're doing it. Intercepting radio communications. Last I checked they still used radios to communicate with reporters.
