general thread NBC Sports/NBCSN/Golf Channel/NBC RSNs Thread

Hopefully it means more Premier League matches on TV. -
I maintain that that was going to be FOX's new look til they saw how it actually looked and behaved on air and then they chucked it mid broadcast. The fact that they half assed modded the old scoreboard just showed they had their doubts about in rehearsals. They began reverting different inserts back to the former look as early as mid way through the 1st quarter and any sign of that package was gone by the end of the game.

Stephania has been anchoring for a few weeks now. I think Rosemary hasn't done full time on the 11AM as of yet it that they've been having her fill in in the mornings as well and it's clear they don't want anyone anchoring all four of those hours of they can help it.

I liked The 'Lights as well. Sports Dash was also a good show as well even though David Briggs was terrible as an anchor. If they bright that back with better talent and promotion it would be successful. -

I wonder what the plan is here. It says she'll be anchoring on 10 from 4-5:30AM and then Telemundo's morning show. Is Tracy cutting back or are they going with 3 anchors for the first half of the show?

I'm sure both she and Michelle Beadle will be clucking away on The View in no time.

Following NCFLMedia's lead, I made a thread for NBC Sports and its many properties following their announcement this week of them revamping their NHL coverage for this upcoming season. http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2018/08/13/nbc-sports-scheduled-to-air-record-109-games-during-2018-19-nhl-regular-season/ Good bye Wednesday Night Rivalry, hello Wednesday Night Hockey. Finally gone are the match ups between contrived rivals (since when did Tampa become a rival to Chicago?) and most match ups being between teams east of the Mississippi. Wednesday Night Hockey brings a doubleheader most weeks and more varied match ups to promote the NHL stars. Looking through the rest of the schedule, it looks like a lot of the non-Wednesday games during the week will be side-by-side productions by NBC RSNs (lots of Blackhawks, Flyers, Capitals and Sharks games on the schedule). Genius as a cost saving move by NBC but kinda flies in the face of the whole "more varied matchups" mantra that they're trying to promote. -
For the purpose it serves, the show is fine. It's never going to compete with 6 or 10 nor do I think that's their intention. They wanted a feature rich show that covers the headlines and weather and the rest of the show, long form C and D block material. I'm sure they'd be perfectly content with beating Judge Judy by the February book.

Stephanie Stahl has done two full health reports these past two days so if they're gonna have health segment on the show everyday you might as well count her in.
-
7 if you count Jessica's pop-in in the 2nd half hour for a headlines read.
-
I'm pretty sure that distinction belongs to Jim Gardner (who as we speak is on vacation lol).

Alicia could have other things during the Noon that keep her from always filling in for a full newscast during an absence. Doing VOs for features on the 4PM and packages for FYI Philly come to mind. That said, it does seem like she's the first off the bench if Rick or Sarah are off. Having one of the morning anchors stay on to fill in seems to be a last resort if Rick, Sarah and Alicia are all off.

No? -
Came across what could be WCAU's future set in the Comcast Technology Center: http://kris-cerola.com/#/broadcastdesign/ I'd like to see what the finished product would look like but it looks pretty nice (I'll even forgive them for using the Pittsburgh skyline in the video wall shot).

See the "The News Tonight" era. That's basically what they were going for back then and it bombed miserably.
-
That would have been awesome although I think the muted reds and oranges probably would have clashed with the mostly gold and teal set. I'd be interested in seeing what the insert elements would have looked like but I doubt they ever got that far.

Where did you find this? I haven't been able to locate Philly sweeps numbers in quite a while. -
If it's a Friday, yes. The other days of the week they'll have someone fill in.
-
They used it as the backdrop for the news set during their postgame show/newscast last night.
-
Late spring/early summer depending on when the building is cleared for occupancy.
-
Probably the fact that it's a 3 hour show now.
-
Chris Sowers did do some double duty for a segment and then Alicia Vitareli finished the show.
