Sadly, most likely not. In any case, here’s hoping everyone over there stays safe, and that they get back on air ASAP.

This is video from Matt Devitt. The studio’s a goner, and there’s flooding in the newsroom too.

This is like KHOU all over again when the Houston CBS station's building was destroyed by flooding at the hands of Harvey.

  2. Tampa Bay's 10 (WTSP) Meteorologist (And former Price Is Right announcer) Rich Fields posted a Facebook video earlier today, the staff is already

evacuating the main studio and currently at their backup facility at WMOR-TV where they're going to be broadcast from temporary.

No.  Many of the biggest names  in Los Angeles television have all moved to the competition at one time or another, for more money or a better time slot,  and sometimes back to where they'd been: Clete Roberts,  George Putnam,  Bill Stout, Joe Benti,  John Schubeck,  Warren Olney, Tritia Toyota, Jess Marlow, Paul Moyer, Ann Martin, Jim Hill,  Linda Alvarez,  Colleen Williams, Chuck Henry, Micah Ohlman,  and  of course Jerry Dunphy.   It's a way of life in the business;   Lynette Romero's situation, whether dissatisfaction with contract or daypart,  and departure up the dial, is not usually the kind of thing that sends the station descending into Dante's ninth circle of hell.

You left out Laura Diaz, and Harold Greene.

Didn’t ABC see erosion across the whole day part with the cancellation of AMC and OLTL? I think it’s a lot like NBC putting Megan Kelly on at 9. It pulled downed the the fourth hour’s numbers. Just like Jay Leno at 10 p.m.

    And I still miss AMC.

Eyewitness News would have been the perfect branding for CBS O&Os had ABC not taken it.

KDKA had the Eyewitness News name until '96, 'BZ had it until '93, and 'JZ had it until either '17 or '18. It would be nice if the EWN name would make a comeback on KD, BZ, and JZ. And personally, I wish my home station had the EWN name in DFW.

Sad News, Bret lewis former WCKT/ WSVN Sports anchor has died, apparently, he had suffered some health issues awhile back, R.I.P. Bret lewis.

I remember Bret Lewis was the 10pm sports anchor at KDFW in the early 1980's before moving to South Florida's 7.

  8. It's a double whammy in Boston and WBZ. We lost Bruce Schwoegler last week, now WBZ mourns the loss of Uma Pemmaraju. Uma started her career at KENS 5 in San Antonio, then moved to KTVT/Dallas-Ft. Worth, and WMAR/Baltimore. Uma moved to Boston to anchor and report at WLVI and WBZ in Boston before moving to FOX News Channel in '96.

Prayers and condolences to Uma's daughter and family in this difficult time.

Reading some of the petitions to deny and other details, it appears the deal may be illegal on foreign ownership rules, as the hedge funds are largely based in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and the British Virgin Islands.

I just hope the FCC gives the big fat "NO!" to Tegna on the deal.
