  1. Here's the full consent decree posted yesterday (5/22). The decree also includes that its has to abide by a four-year compliance plan. If this was any other broadcaster, that $48M would've been just. But with Sinclair?! Even if the fine would've been $100M (which should've been the preferred fine), that still would've been a slap on the wrist. FCC should've at least put the matter to a hearing anyway. Without the hearing, this shows that they can just buy their way out of trouble. And once four years elapses, how do we know they won't re-offend again? Remember Glencairn? Anywho, the FCC did approve their long-awaited transaction of KOMO-FM from South Sound Broadcasting. The deal was first made in June of 2017.
  2. The new "10" logo went live on the noon show. Vid courtesy of "dma37dude" from YT.
  3. Well let's see which stations have yet to switch. I posted this back on Christmas Eve. I've scratched the ones that gotten "Gray'd" since then.
  4. Yes. Once the FCC greenlights a deal, the parties have 90 days to complete the sale. That's with any transaction. But the parties can file an "extension of consummation" to add another 90 days if they need to. That's a rare though.
  5. I had a feeling this second half hour was just an O&O thing. But KTRK is not carrying it. They're showing their regular local 6:30-cast.
  6. KGWC & KTWO was also greenlighted.
  7. If you post another post within a short period of time, it will automatically merge.
  8. The DOJ only told Nexstar to divest WEVV, because that would've gave them too much control in Evansville with WEHT/WTVW. WEVV was originally proposed to be ran by a new female-ran shell Rocky Creek Broadcasting. But it was eventually sold to DuJuan McCoy's Bayou City Broadcasting with no sharing agreement attached. It was Wheeler and the Democratic-ran FCC that didn't act on the original Mission proposal because at the time Wheeler had a strict guidance on scrutinizing deals with sharing arrangements. So Nexstar amended that application to assign those stations to Marshall.
  9. So follow up. Last year, Pluria Marshall filed a lawsuit against Nexstar. Months later, Marshall filed for Chapter 11. Now by a bankruptcy court order, Marshall is going to sell his three stations to Mission Broadcasting.
  10. Usually the FCC would approve all three-related transactions concurrently. But I remember back in 2014, when the FCC approved the Gray/Hoak transaction, but not the related KHAS & KXND/KNDX deal to sidecar "Excalibur Broadcasting". Those stations would be spun off to minority broadcasters later that year. We'll see what happens. But remember, the FCC just went back to the 2016 ownership rules, after the Third Circult vacated Pai's 2017 dereg rule last Fall. One of the rules was the relaxation of the JSA attribution rule from the Wheeler-era.
  11. The DOJ was going to block the sale (and that was after the FCC approved parts of that deal (except for KFNE). So Gray called off that sale.
  12. So small follow up. The FCC has greenlighted the KFNB (and satellites) Front Range transaction. But the KGWC (Big Horn) & KTWO (VIsion WY) is still pending.
  13. Their Facebook & Twitter pages has changed its handle from "10NewsWTSP" to "10TampaBay".
  14. Standard General now has 12% interest in Tegna.
  15. He's 70. He should've gotten tested anyway.
  16. New Station. WSFA is broadcasting from its new downtown facility tonight. They're using the WMC package. Vid courtesy of "KLMO"'s YT page
  17. They're both sitting at the far ends of the anchor desk.
  18. From this RBR article last Friday: So that means after closing of the deal, callsigns, virtual channels and intellectual properties will be swapped. Both are basically switching sticks. Currently: Telemundo - KNSO - Virtual Ch. 51 - RF 11 - Fac. ID 58608 Cocola - KGMC - Virtual Ch. 43 - RF 27 - Fac. ID 23302 Post-closing: Cocola - KGMC - VC 43 - RF 11 - Fac. ID 58608 Telemundo - KNSO - VC 51 - RF 27 - Fac. ID 23302 OTA viewers would have to rescan their TVs to get Telemundo 51 on a superior UHF signal. And Estrella 43 will be on the VHF allotment.
  19. This is DeMarco's third night filling-in. Only this time, he'll be seen nationally.
  20. They're back at 57 this morning.....
  21. That secondary link live streamed the broadcast.
  22. We have a very interesting M&A. In Fresno, NBC's Telemundo O&O KNSO and Cocola Broadcasting's flagship station KGMC are exchanging facilities. Once the deal is finalized, NBC will take ownership of KGMC's facility on UHF RF 27, while Cocola will own KNSO's facility on VHF RF 11. Callsigns will also be swapped after closing. Along with the exchange, NBC will pay Cocola $4.5M. And while this deal is pending, Telemundo will temporarily carry programming (simulcast?) on an SD suchannel on KGMC current stick RF 27. Might as well ask the FCC to exchange virtual channels to alleviate confusion while they're at it.
  23. That's going to be a hard sell because It's been a while since the FCC approved a brand new full-power TV station. And I don't think its going to happen in the near term, as stations are still in the process of repacking after the spectrum auction. And anyway, Gray didn't really need another full power TV station. They already have full power KVLY, and those three LPs (KXJB, etc.). If that deal would've went through, they probably would've moved one of those other networks (CBS or CW) over to the new FP. ______________________________ New M&A. John Wagner is selling the Ion station in the Mississippi Delta, WFXW (the former CBS station WXVT) as a donation to Christian broadcaster, TCT.
  24. The FCC should've acted on this way sooner. As soon as the KRDK's owners filed that petiton to deny, the FCC should've made this ruling right then and there and not let the deal drag on for 25 months.......
