  1. Let's go back to Nebraska shall we? We know Gray loves Nebraska, right? Gray is in the process of installing a brand new 500-ft tower for its Scottsbluff station, KSTF (the semi-satellite of Cheyenne, WY's KGWN). But it order to do that, the station had to turn off its signal and dismantle its current tower. The signal was turned off on Thursday. The article states that the installation is expected to take between four to six weeks. _________________________ Also, The Pappas sale of Milwaukee's WIWN to Caballero was closed on Wednesday.
  2. Wonderful, they're going to use the same opening cue KING 5 & KGW is using. Great {sarcasm}.
  3. Wow! What a difference six years make. She was one of the first personalities when WMBF launched six years ago (and it was her first on-air gig at that). As I've seen here reporting style and delivery on WKYC, she's good enough that she could be in one of the bigger markets, hell, even one of the networks. IMO, she's like Linsey Davis-good. But I never thought she would end up at the #1 station in the largest market in the country. And she hasn't even been at WKYC 16 months? I feel that ABC made a tremendous decision picking her. Follow-up. A.J. made her Channel 7 debut yesterday, on it's 5:30pm show.
  4. Theresa Gutierrez is retiring from Channel 7 after 42 years, on October 31st. They made an on-air mention about her retirement after she finished her report during the 5pm show tonight. EDIT: Here's Feder's piece.
  5. The paperwork says that Prather is paying $18.7M for WTVA.
  6. Okay. They're finally working on the WVEC & KREM 2 websites now. That only leaves only WHAS 11. I hope they finally fix their live streaming audio problem.
  7. They still haven't started making new sites for either KREM 2 or WHAS 11 yet.
  8. And they're live streaming isn't working either this morning.
  9. WWL's new site is LIVE y'all.
  10. I'm thinking the station did this to air more local ads on the 1am hour, instead of airing just the 10pm rebroadcast after WCL and before WNN at 1:43am (like the station use to do, prior to the Katie borefest). And Inside Edition airs more local ads than national ads anyway. EDIT: Because of the heavy rain that's expected to fall tomorrow morning, WLS is going to have a special 4am start of the news.
  11. What a remarkable career she's made at Channel 7. Didn't realized she was there that long. I'm not too sure if this was also a first for a TV station to do this or not. But neverless, I wish her all the best in her retirement. ____________________ Okay, I got some good news. Looking at the guides, next week, the rebroadcast of its 10pm news returns to Channel 7 (YES!!!). But it will air at 1:37am, after a repeat of Inside Edition at 1:07am.
  12. When I saw WABC's hourly 12pm yesterday, they stated that the Daytime Jeopardy is playing episodes from the previous season (Season 30). I'd rather for them to do that, instead of airing yesterday's episode at 2:30pm, which I thought that was the case.
  13. He's been at WWL for a little bit. Shocked that he immediately became Dennis Woltering's replacement.
  14. Thank God for that!!!
  15. That newsroom looked like it hasn't been touched at all since probably the late 1990s. What renovations they'd done since 2005? Nevertheless, it's about time.
  16. I thought they start on Monday, the 8th? Oh wait. I saw the guide. Why are they simulcasting the Tennis on My54 on Monday? SMH.
  17. We have another consummation. The BendBroadband takeover (including Bend, Oregon stations KOHD & KBNZ-LD) by TDS in Chicago was closed on Monday.
  18. It doesn't make me stop thinking that it was an asinine decision she made on giving it to them. Like I said, she's really dumb for doing that. I don't care if they would give her twice as much. If she would've sold it to someone else, then I wouldn't be so mad about it. But it's Sinclair we're talking about. Not any other broadcaster. Wow! I didn't realized he wanted to sell his baby Channel 3 before he passed. Earlier, I stated that Sinclair was coming touring the station, while doing it at the same time Rogers was on his death bed. But I didn't know Jim was willing to sell before he passed. I still wished that another buyer came about and not those fools. To me, it ain't about the money (sine that is the case). What I'm worried about here, is what Sinclair is going to do post-consummation to KSNV. That's what I'm worried about.
  19. I know that!!! You see Sinclair wanted this from the jump. I'm asking why she would be so asinine to give in to these Heathens of Hunt Valley, after going out and saying "this station was NOT for sale", and turn around and sell the house that Jim built. I don't care if she was so tempted with their money. She made a huge mistake. This is a sad day in Southern NV. Channels 5, 8 & 13 should be celebrating in jubiliation. You may not like what I'm about to say. But I wouldn't be shocked if they keep that VHF 2 frequency & give one of those channels to a speculator. Think about it. The UHF discount ruling is coming soon, if not in a not-too-distant future. And if the ruling includes a possible "VHF discount", they'll probably going to take advantage of it. Now I'm not for any TV station going to the VHF-low frequency becaause it's exceedingly difficult to get a signal and such. Also, those auctions are coming up next summer, and many of the speculators want to buy more UHF airspace before they can resell it for those Wireles fools. And you know how I am about this "pet project" broadband plan. But with all of that being said, I wouldn't be shocked if both CW & MNT share one stream, and the new GetTV would be on either be on the same stream with the CW or move to KSNV. I wouldn't be shocked if they kick Estrella to the curve, and maybe one of the subs that KSNV currently have.
  20. That is sad as hell. Why Beverly? Why?!!!! :bang:
  21. Sad News in Nebraska. Former longtime KNOP-TV owner Ulysses Carlini, Sr. passed away on Sunday at the age of 89. He owned KNOP from 1968 until he sold the station (along with KHAS, which he bought in 1997) to Hoak Media in 2005. EDIT 6:37pm/ET: Damn Raymie beat me to it yesterday. I didn't realized until just now. My bad.
  22. That. Is. FASCINATING!!!!
  23. There's no logos that have that distinctiveness anymore. Any new logo comes about, it has to be clean and uninspired. Now the WDIV last logo, had that distinctiveness and effectiveness. I didn't understand why they didn't keep it. And to Mrtraveler01 mentioning WJXT, which basically went the WDIV route, I didn't understand why they wanted to change their old logo either, even if the new logo kept certain features the old logo had. If it ain't broke.....
  24. RIP The Spirit Of Texas music logo. Thirty Years. [yt]yzzWKFG5-dw[/yt] Courtesy of CorporateMagicDallas from YT.
  25. The streaming worked during the 4:30-6am portion of Daybreak. After that, it just went blank from there.
