  1. Nothing. That's just an old saying to not make much fanfare about it. That's all.
  2. Well, not to cause alarm but today (10/26) was the first anniversary of the rebrand of Eyewitness News.
  3. .......Just in time for the November books to begin on Thursday. So that basically completes the rollout of the G3 graphics Part 2, for the Belo stations. It's going to be very interesting with the rollout for the London stations. I'm hoping & praying they don't alter KIII's Circle 3 logo. The only two stations that implemented the graphics on a weekend were KREM 2 & KTVB (debut Sun. 9/28).
  4. Well, we heard the news yesterday that Nexstar is buying Phoenix's KASW, which I didn't see this coming from a mile away. But this afternoon, Mike Malone from the B&C states his sources said that Nexstar might be getting Pappas' Des Moines CW station KCWI next. Perry Sook didn't confirm the news but the article states that he "said he hoped to do so "Very soon." Nexstar already owns the ABC station there, WOI-DT. And Pappas trustee wants to unload the stations it has left. The question is, should this stick and Nexstar does acquire KCWI, could it also include moving the program stream of its This TV affil on KDMI? But it is a good thing that the broadcasters ARE buying the lower rated stations and not these spectrum speculators.
  5. It is that same exact cue! I still felt that the Deathstar could've had Gari do a 'Spirit of Texas' variant for just WFAA & KHOU. They ain't that cheap to do that. I noticed all the King stations, even KTVB is using that same opening cue. Even though I'm hoping KREM 2 would shock us, I wouldn't hold my breath. But Damn! What a summer of this G3 rollout Part 2! I don't think we've talked about the Deathstar this much, since the first infamous standardization in 2008. RIP Spirit Of Texas for good.
  6. Paperwork for WLOV, Coastal is paying $1.6M.
  7. TVNewsCheck states that WMBF VP/GM Ted Fortenberry will replace the retiring Dan Modisett, as the new VP/GM of Jackson, MS sister-station WLBT, effective January. Fortenberry has been the VP/GM of WMBF since 2007, about a year before the station launched.
  8. I noticed that the font on the time/temp bug was a bit bolder now. Remember, I stated that it was skinny as hell, when the new Graphics was implemented back in June. This caption was from Wednesday night's 5pm show (probably their first HD broadcast). I thought they were just upgrading the software or something. Didn't realized it was for their HD launch.
  9. I wonder which Chicago station is going to carry the syndicated ASN package. If I could guess which station that could carry it, it would be WCIU. They would no doubt cram it on "The U Too" subchannel.
  10. Here's KTVB's news report about their HD launch yesterday.
  11. Let's go back to Nebraska shall we? We know Gray loves Nebraska, right? Gray is in the process of installing a brand new 500-ft tower for its Scottsbluff station, KSTF (the semi-satellite of Cheyenne, WY's KGWN). But it order to do that, the station had to turn off its signal and dismantle its current tower. The signal was turned off on Thursday. The article states that the installation is expected to take between four to six weeks. _________________________ Also, The Pappas sale of Milwaukee's WIWN to Caballero was closed on Wednesday.
  12. Wonderful, they're going to use the same opening cue KING 5 & KGW is using. Great {sarcasm}.
  13. Wow! What a difference six years make. She was one of the first personalities when WMBF launched six years ago (and it was her first on-air gig at that). As I've seen here reporting style and delivery on WKYC, she's good enough that she could be in one of the bigger markets, hell, even one of the networks. IMO, she's like Linsey Davis-good. But I never thought she would end up at the #1 station in the largest market in the country. And she hasn't even been at WKYC 16 months? I feel that ABC made a tremendous decision picking her. Follow-up. A.J. made her Channel 7 debut yesterday, on it's 5:30pm show.
  14. Theresa Gutierrez is retiring from Channel 7 after 42 years, on October 31st. They made an on-air mention about her retirement after she finished her report during the 5pm show tonight. EDIT: Here's Feder's piece.
  15. The paperwork says that Prather is paying $18.7M for WTVA.
  16. Okay. They're finally working on the WVEC & KREM 2 websites now. That only leaves only WHAS 11. I hope they finally fix their live streaming audio problem.
  17. They still haven't started making new sites for either KREM 2 or WHAS 11 yet.
  18. And they're live streaming isn't working either this morning.
  19. I'm thinking the station did this to air more local ads on the 1am hour, instead of airing just the 10pm rebroadcast after WCL and before WNN at 1:43am (like the station use to do, prior to the Katie borefest). And Inside Edition airs more local ads than national ads anyway. EDIT: Because of the heavy rain that's expected to fall tomorrow morning, WLS is going to have a special 4am start of the news.
  20. What a remarkable career she's made at Channel 7. Didn't realized she was there that long. I'm not too sure if this was also a first for a TV station to do this or not. But neverless, I wish her all the best in her retirement. ____________________ Okay, I got some good news. Looking at the guides, next week, the rebroadcast of its 10pm news returns to Channel 7 (YES!!!). But it will air at 1:37am, after a repeat of Inside Edition at 1:07am.
  21. When I saw WABC's hourly 12pm yesterday, they stated that the Daytime Jeopardy is playing episodes from the previous season (Season 30). I'd rather for them to do that, instead of airing yesterday's episode at 2:30pm, which I thought that was the case.
  22. He's been at WWL for a little bit. Shocked that he immediately became Dennis Woltering's replacement.
