  1. So, looking at WHBQ's schedule as of today, the following changes have been made: - Sherri Shephard at 10AM - DISH Nation at 11:30AM - Family Feud at Noon (replacing The Real) in addition to 4PM - Divorce Court at 2:00PM (replacing Judge Jerry) Don't know why they decided to double down (or quadruple down, in this case) on Family Feud, tbh.
  2. My guess is the new setup will be along the lines of what KTHV, WCNC, and (to an extent) KARE all received recently.
  3. WATN is making the following changes to their lineup as of September 12: - 25 Words or Less at 9AM; Pictionary at 9:30AM (replacing Ellen) - Karamo at 3PM (replacing Nick Cannon) - The Jennifer Hudson Show at 4PM (replacing Hot Bench) - iCrime with Elizabeth Vargas at 6:30PM (replacing You Bet Your Life)
  4. I could see a scenario in which WREG takes the CW affiliation from WLMT within the next year and places it on a subchannel (most likely on 3.2 with the NC3A feed being shifted to 3.3 and Antenna TV to 3.4). The same would be the case with WATE taking over from WBXX. The latter stations I mentioned (WLMT & WBXX) are part of existing duopolies and have MNTV to fall back on if need be. WNAB could be a complicated situation since they're "locally" owned, but managed by Sinclair. Would they be willing to shed their current JSA/SSA to join up with Nexstar/WKRN?
  5. Bumping this thread. Per Trevor Birchett on Twitter, the entire studio is now being gutted.
  6. Not a bad choice. The design of the building itself just screams TV station.
  7. Interesting that this happened right before their new set was supposed to debut.
  8. Yes. WREG and WATE were the first two stations to roll out the new website format. I believe @KentBrockman made a mention of this over on Discord a while back.
  9. The new couch setup replaced the corner desk area in the main studio (first picture in the slideshow). https://www.clickspringdesign.com/portfolio/twc-studio/ Before that, the second half of America's Morning Headquarters was done from a small table and two chair setup in front of the 4x4 video wall.
  10. WATN in Memphis has been using the updated look for the last couple of weeks now. I'll post a compilation on my channel later this week. WATN WLMT - Updated TEGNA Graphics.mp4 WATN WLMT - Updated TEGNA Graphics.mp4
  11. KLRT/KASN was on that set for about two years before the sale from Newport/Providence Equity to Nexstar was completed in 2013 and all operations got moved to KARK's studio space inside the Victory Building soon after. So that's a little over a decade of continuous use & re-use between KLRT/KASN and WATN/WLMT.
  12. WDEF meteorologist Danielle Moss is leaving the station after recently accepting a job at WATN in Memphis. Her last day is tomorrow.
  13. This looks to be more of a remodel/refresh being done considering they're still doing news in the studio (for now) from a makeshift area on the other side. Removing the desk was step 1 in that process. Looking forward to seeing to what extent this makeover will actually go.
  14. I remember Jovita Moore when she was working at WMC-TV in the mid 90s. She even chaperoned a field trip I was on at one time in elementary school. A brief article mentioning her passing was posted on WMC's website earlier today: https://www.actionnews5.com/2021/10/29/former-action-news-5-anchor-jovita-moore-dies-after-battle-with-brain-cancer/ My condolences to her entire family.
  15. I've also noticed the flags have text in the corners that read "NEWS RIGHT NOW". Could be a hint about the news branding come Monday.
  16. Wouldn't be too hard to do, especially if they reverted back to their old ABC 5 branding in the near future. Here's a mock-up I made in under 30 minutes:
  17. Not entirely. Just some modifications were done for the on-air graphics while keeping the logo basically the same sans the whole WKRC copycat thing.
  18. I see. So, they're going with a WVEC-esque look now. Link to the story: https://www.localmemphis.com/article/about-us/local-memphis-and-local-24-becoming-abc24-on-september-27/522-1dd5ae03-80cb-47d4-8227-c123a5e42cd5?utm_medium=social&utm_source=undefined_janiceTVnews
  19. WATN's new schedule as of September 27th (changes highlighted in bold): 5:00AM: Good Day Memphis 7:00AM: Good Morning America 9:00AM: The Ellen Degeneres Show (moving from 4:00PM; replacing 20 Words or Less) 10:00AM: The View 11:00AM: ABC24 News Midday (reduced to a half-hour newscast) 11:30AM: Daily Blast Live 12:00PM: GMA3: What You Need to Know 1:00PM: General Hospital 2:00PM: Dr. Phil (moving up one hour) 3:00PM: The Nick Cannon Show 4:00PM: Hot Bench (two episodes; moving from WLMT) 5:00PM: ABC24 News 5:30PM: ABC World News Tonight 6:00PM: ABC24 News 6:30PM: You Bet Your Life w/ Jay Leno I should also point out that WATN does air The Drew Barrymore Show; however, it's on at 1:05AM.
  20. Meh. They only refinished the floor and replaced the monitors. Nothing else.
  21. No. WSPA's new set was done in-house, and has similarities to a few other Nexstar-designed sets that have rolled out over the last year or two.
  22. WMC-TV switched recently, as have KAIT and KFVS.
  23. So, a refresh on top of a refresh on top of a refresh. KYW is never getting rid of that set they've been on since moving to 1555 Hamilton. Are they?
  24. The setup they had was unconventional for a news operation to begin with. https://jhdgroup.net/portfolio/wjzy-news-studios/ That's not a knock on JHD Group though as they do some very good quality work (and did come back to put in a proper news area), but you should never make your news studio into one big lounge.
  25. WOI-TV in Des Moines went Full TEGNA as of this Midday, complete with a new logo: WOI-TV Local 5 News Midday Open (10-14-20)_mpeg4.avi
