  1. There's always the weekday morning shift they can put her on, which seems like Cook's likely destination.
  2. Just about all of the media outlets are reporting from Memphis on that day.
  3. It should also be noted KLRT received the new website as well.
  4. They stole that weather logo from WHBQ.
  5. It should also be noted that the station just hired a new news director named Greg Phillips (formerly from WVUE), who started work at WMC-TV a couple of weeks ago. http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story/37305157/wmc5-names-news-director
  6. I just saw her do a news report tonight. Whether that means she'll be a general assignment reporter or an anchor/reporter remains to be seen.
  7. WREG has announced their sports director Glenn Carver is leaving after 30 years at the station. His final sports broadcast is tonight at 10:00. http://wreg.com/2018/02/28/saying-goodbye-after-30-years-on-air-glenn-carver-signs-off-for-last-time/
  8. They're probably replacing the outdoor monitor panels with new ones, which have been in place since after the 2012 Summer Olympics.
  9. Bad enough that a lot of the legacy Nexstar stations still don't live stream their newscasts, now this happens. Something tells me they're on the verge of axing the streams altogether next as another one of many many cost-cutting moves by this station group.
  10. Nashville Scene has a story today on WSMV's recent issues surrounding Demetria Kalodimos' departure and how it was handled. https://www.nashvillescene.com/news/cover-story/article/20990725/anchor-down-how-wsmv-walked-away-from-demetria-kalodimos
  11. Parts of it look like the WFLA/WCMH package, which make it look more of a mismatch of consistency.
  12. Not exactly when you consider WCPO was the first station to roll out the package that came out before their current one.
  13. WHBQ was the first. I believe all of the Cox stations are using the CMG ID as their closer now.
  14. It's self explanatory referring to all of the morning news shows on Nexstar stations.
  15. I don't think the person in charge of the graphics was expecting the Chiefs to blow a 21-0 lead when he or she wrote that lower 3rd.
  16. 2 NewsTeam was never used outside of the promos as this was a transitional look for WMC-TV that lasted for a short time before Bert Ellis WSB-ified the station months later.
  17. Longtime WSMV news anchor Demetria Kalodimos is no longer employed at the station as her contract was allowed to expire on yesterday December 31st. http://www.wsmv.com/story/37167936/wsmv-thanks-demetria-kalodimos There is also an ongoing lawsuit against the station over allegations of "age discrimination" by some of its former on-air personalities that was filed back in late November (Kalodimos was named a witness in the suit). http://tennesseestar.com/2017/12/02/former-wsmv-news-channel-4-newscasters-file-age-discrimination-lawsuit/
  18. They could file an objection on behalf of one of their stations in response. Where it goes from there is anyone's guess.
  19. Is that all? Meh. Surprised they were able to get away with it for so long.
  20. Not bad, but why does it look like the "3" is trying to eat the CBS eye?
  21. Some news promos from WHBQ in 1990 around the time it changed owners after RKO was forced to dissolve.
  22. Some news clips from WMC-TV, KAIT and KARK circa 1994.
  23. Maybe someone at Nexstar finally realized giving their stations' websites random names that don't really connect with the station itself is stupid, and are now "finally" trying to fix that mistake. Hopefully this means the end is nigh for sites like arkansasmatters.com and ozarksfirst.com.
  24. WHBQ's version was dirt poor compared to KCRA, and it was back when the station was trying to go for a "hard news" look on the cheap. My guess is someone at Adams really liked what Kelly Broadcasting was doing at the time and wanted to mimic it.
