  1. 2 NewsTeam was never used outside of the promos as this was a transitional look for WMC-TV that lasted for a short time before Bert Ellis WSB-ified the station months later.
  2. Longtime WSMV news anchor Demetria Kalodimos is no longer employed at the station as her contract was allowed to expire on yesterday December 31st. http://www.wsmv.com/story/37167936/wsmv-thanks-demetria-kalodimos There is also an ongoing lawsuit against the station over allegations of "age discrimination" by some of its former on-air personalities that was filed back in late November (Kalodimos was named a witness in the suit). http://tennesseestar.com/2017/12/02/former-wsmv-news-channel-4-newscasters-file-age-discrimination-lawsuit/
  3. They could file an objection on behalf of one of their stations in response. Where it goes from there is anyone's guess.
  4. Is that all? Meh. Surprised they were able to get away with it for so long.
  5. Not bad, but why does it look like the "3" is trying to eat the CBS eye?
  6. Some news promos from WHBQ in 1990 around the time it changed owners after RKO was forced to dissolve.
  7. Some news clips from WMC-TV, KAIT and KARK circa 1994.
  8. Maybe someone at Nexstar finally realized giving their stations' websites random names that don't really connect with the station itself is stupid, and are now "finally" trying to fix that mistake. Hopefully this means the end is nigh for sites like arkansasmatters.com and ozarksfirst.com.
  9. WHBQ's version was dirt poor compared to KCRA, and it was back when the station was trying to go for a "hard news" look on the cheap. My guess is someone at Adams really liked what Kelly Broadcasting was doing at the time and wanted to mimic it.
  10. I see that, and I raise you WJAX/WFOX's new graphics package.
  11. A follow up on this one, Kozak's final day at WMC-TV was September 24th. Replacing him on weekends is former WTOK weatherman Nick Gunter, who was recently hired by the station.
  12. Reminds me of Bill O'Reilly's infamous rant from his Inside Edition days. And of course, the internet had a field day with this:
  13. Per the Memphis Commercial Appeal, former WREG news anchor Richard Ransom has been hired as the new main anchor and managing editor at crosstown rival WATN. His first day on air is September 25th and replaces Brandon Artiles, who will continue to anchor the 9:00 news on sister station WLMT. http://www.commercialappeal.com/story/news/local/suburbs/2017/09/14/richard-ransom-returns-moving-local-24-anchor-desk/664084001/
  14. Oh yes. I remember this type of set as WMC-TV had a similar one in the late 80s/early 90s.
  15. Dawn Davenport is leaving WKRN after ten years as a morning anchor and reporter. Her last day at the station is Friday. http://wkrn.com/2017/08/08/dawn-davenport-to-leave-news-2-after-10-years/
  16. They didn't post July numbers last year either.
  17. WKRN's Samantha Fisher anchored her final newscast tonight. She is stepping away after five years at the station to focus on being a full-time mother. http://wkrn.com/2017/08/04/samantha-fisher-anchors-last-show-at-news-2/
  18. Possibly, but it depends on who buys WKNX from Lockwood. Nexstar and TEGNA are possible, but so is Raycom.
  19. That already exists. It's called RT (Russia Today), which gets just as much criticism here by some in the corporate media - if not more - as Al Jazeera (aka the "terrorist news network" as people call it).
  20. They look a bit like the lower 3rds you would see at a Raycom station minus the bugs on both sides.
  21. Those graphics look terrible, even by Nexstar standards.
  22. I think that's where MSNBC failed on this particular endeavor. Apart from the stigma you mentioned, the addition of Greta felt so sudden.
  23. Yikes! Forget about moving in some time in the fall. At this point, WCAU would be lucky to move into their new home in time for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
  24. I know WTVF in Nashville never went with doing The Now after it became a Scripps station.
  25. You would think they would at least fix the rebroadcast scheduling for their primetime shows (Hayes, Maddow, O'Donnell, Williams). Is there even a need to air reruns of The 11th Hour twice at 2am and 4am Eastern time?
