By virtue of being the largest media market, I would imagine.
-
I hope that doesn't result in Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy being canceled.
-
Except, of course, that it won't be called Peacock. It'll be called NBC. (Okay, maybe NBC+.)
-
If NBC wants to make this move work, they'll need to start putting new shows on Saturday nights again and not just use it for repeats and Dateline.
-
I could see Nightline moving to that hour.
-
A better question: 3. When do we think they'll blow up HLN and turn it into something that isn't 79% true crime shows?
-
They would just have to get creative -- starting with using more of the 52 weeks in a year.
-
I can't help but think that maybe NBC should test the waters on one or two nights of the week before committing to this big a change for all seven nights. Friday and Saturday nights would be a good place to start.

This.

Better question: Does anyone actually care?
-
I don't see any problem with this. There are casinos in Las Vegas that are open 24/7 and the town is known for its nightlife. Someone who works evenings, gets home well after midnight, and sleeps till early or mid-afternoon might actually want to watch the local news.
-
No, there's another downside, though it's more of a hardware issue than anything: The streaming remote used to peruse those services often lack number buttons, effectively forcing you to use the program guide or flip from channel to channel just to get to the one you want to watch.
-
We're probably getting off topic here, but I've been waiting for the contracting of linear cable television and the shedding of channels that aren't being watched, particularly among the multiplexers (HBO, Showtime, MTV, Nickelodeon, etc.) that have multiple flavors of themselves. I mean, do we really need several versions of MTV when there's often not enough new content to justify more than two?
-
So, is having one soap on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and the other soap on Tuesdays and Thursdays too complicated?
-
What about the other two days?
-
So, while CNN proper was focused on its "The Fourth in America" special tonight, their live coverage of the Highland Park, IL, mass shooting was instead airing, for at least a little while, on HLN. That was a pleasant surprise. Rather conveniently, the coverage preempted an episode of Very Scary People.

I believe there's a saying for this: "If it bleeds, it leads." The fact that it bled five hours ago is apparently immaterial.
-
All we need is "MSNBC Overnight".
-
Maybe they should move all the opinionated shows to HLN. It'd be better than 19 hours a day of Forensic Files.

Their website looks like it was designed for mobile devices with no consideration for desktop browsers (or anything with a screen resolution greater than 1000px wide). That's just lazy.

WMUR's Tom Griffith is retiring in a few months, with his last day being June 3rd. https://www.wmur.com/article/wmur-new-hampshire-tom-griffith-retirement/39653352#

That's more like two or three decisions, but either way, he's ending strong.

Well, it wasn't an exit interview per se, but Colbert did devote a segment of tonight's show to Licht's news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_rVUr3g5Gs

Colbert should given him an on-air exit interview. I'm completely serious.
