The reason I have NFL RedZone is because it was commercial free. If I wanted to watch with commercials, I would watch it on the broadcast network.

In the end, Paramount Global didn’t settle because they were wrong. They didn’t settle because it was fair. They settled because that’s how power works now. Grease the right palms, press the right flesh, and you can say whatever the hell you want—as long as you don’t mean it. In the end, they sold out the truth for 16 million bucks. ... that’s a hell of a bargain.

At one point, WDCA in Washington had 1/2-hour live newscasts at 8p & 9p produced by sister station WTTG until switching to their current full-hour 8 p.m. newscast.

Technically, it was the WCBS 880 helicopter used on PIX 11. So, I guess when the radio station ended so did the contract to lease it.

This will be the first time since 2013 channel 9 has had a local newscast (not counting Chasing News) and the first time 1983 channel 9 has had a primetime newscast.

They are doing what KTVT is doing. Retaining the logo as a secondary icon, while making CBS News New York their main news brand.

BIT OF AN UPDATE: CBS News Detroit is now using the new ticker and logo matching the look of all the stations in the group and they have hired Rachel Hopmeyer as their new sports anchor and reporter.

WWJ has finally updated the ticker and logo as of this morning.

I am watching CBS News Detroit right now and Karen is still there. She is pregnant. Guess she is on maternity leave and just came in to do the weather today.

That's true it's not exclusive. The latest Draft Kings commercial with Kevin Hart used the first 15 seconds of the theme.

Right now, Troy Bridges does the morning news, Kylie Miller does noon and 4 p.m., Ahmad Bajjey does the evening and late news and Stacey Duford does the weekends evenings. Haven't seen Karen Carter recently.

Saturday, it will be a year since CBS News Detroit premiered and they have really improved since then, especially the combo of Terrance and Shania on the evening broadcasts. I know in some way the ratings will still be a challenge, but this news operation is in for the long haul.
