  1. She'll be doing real estate segments on KPRC's weekend morning shows.

Out of all people, why would they want to pick her to replace Tamica? I guess it's alright to put an annoying bimbo on to get viewers right? I'm hoping they'll find a true replacement soon.

Tegna is blowing up the WWL morning team. First it was Buchtel, then Hoss and now Tamica. I wouldn't be surprised if Paulsen and/or Sally-Ann be next out the door before its all over.

Oh, that day is coming...trust me.

  2. That's what I call a career-killing move to jump from the market's strongest station to a ratings joke...

Well, it wasn't on her own doing. Tegna didn't want her back...which is crazy to me.

  3. But the New Orleans area has AT&T as a competitor to Cox, along with maybe Charter/Spectrum. Macon also has AT&T as a competitor to Cox, and CenturyLink actually serves the entire Phoenix area. Which specific parts of the Phoenix area have Mediacom and Frontier? I live there without realizing they have operations in parts of the area. In the Hampton Roads area, I think Hampton Roads also has Mediacom, and there might be more of that area with Charter.

UPDATE: The Phoenix area is primarily Cox and CenturyLink, with Mediacom serving only some eastern suburbs. None of it is served by Frontier.

Charter/Spectrum serves Lafourche (also Vision Comm.), St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Terrebonne parishes and Pearl River County, Miss. Washington Parish has Media3. St. Mary Parish has Cox. St. John Parish has RTC and Xfinity. Hancock County, Miss. has Mediacom. Pike County, Miss. has CableOne.

  4. certain CBS stations air the price is right at 11AM instead of 10AM. majority of the O&Os in the west coast have 10PM slot. KCNC however decided to keep lets make a deal at 2PM due to CBS this morning at 9AM where as other CBS O&Os show lets make a deal at 9AM. this is probably the same case for CBS affiliates not owned by CBS like Nexstar, Sinclair or Hearst for example.

WAFB does this and airs "The Y & the R" at 4 pm...they've been doing this for years.

  5. Get ready for some rare Louisiana newscasts. Starting it off is WBRZ in Baton Rouge from back in 1984. It does contain most of the newscast with John Pastorek, but no open is shown.

My parents moved to Louisiana in October 1984. I remember Channel 2. They had received a new set by then (bright blue/gray), but was still using that theme.

  6. Not that much would change in those markets, since Raycom already has those markets cornered with WLBT and WDAM. (There's also WAPT in Jackson but that is probably Hearst's weakest station.)

Wouldn't surprise me if they combine those web sites.

  7. Damnit, too late to post it's a done deal.

Wonder how long it'll be till the crappy "your(market)matters" domains take effect for the MG stations.

    My guess? WJTV - MyMississippi.com; WHLT - MyPineBelt.com

  8. There may have been threats from CBS of pulling their affiliation? Even though they shouldn't be trying to bully one of their top affiliates especially when there isn't a good alternative for CBS to place their affiliation (would they really jump to WGNO and give ABC a life preserver in NOLA by moving from a dog station to the market leader? Can't see WDSU or WVUE switching).

Personally, I doubt that. I think that was a Tegna move, since WWL's affiliation isn't up for renewal for a couple of years.

SN: I thought they did the 7-9 am block from "The 504" set, but it's actually a new set.

  9. WWL has been losing ground over the last few years, and this move could be what puts either WDSU or WVUE ahead of them in the ratings.

If their CBS affiliation was ever in jeopardy, WWL would do just fine as an independent.

WWL still beats both stations by a good margin, but that 7-9 am block will be interesting, especially during February sweeps.

I suspect Tegna forced this change...the network had no problem all of these years.
