  2. WZZM 1977 open with "MCTYW"
  3. I wonder if this KIRO image spot (starts at 6:14) features "In the Great Northwest" from 1979: OR it could be "Spirit of the Great Northwest". Either way, would be nice to figure out where that came from.
  4. Columbus, OH, news clips from 1991, including a WBNS close:
  5. WTSP 1991 news update:
  6. WMBD 1978 news open: http://www.fuzzymemories.tv/index.php?c=4737 The production values are superb! They were using all the video effects available. Great unknown theme. Also Carol LeBeau is the co-anchor. Great find.

  13. Cool 1984 KOMO news helicopter promo and :Fourmost Movie" bumper:
  14. Nice promo for WTHR from 1984. No music, but it does feature the slogan, "the News Specialists: NBC's 1983 affiliate theme still in action at WTHR in 1984:
  15. It appears they only used "Hello News" from 1980-82. They moved into their current building in 1982 and I suspect that's when they picked up the KSL theme (News Specialists?). It seems they adopted the WBNS "People You Can Count On" theme around 1985 and used until 1987 when that custom theme debuted.
  16. OK, here's a WTHR 1986 open with "People You Can Count On": Also, take a look at this. It features the unknown WTHR 1987 theme.. Notice the slogan at the end: "Proud to Call It Home": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9fOcN9x51c
  17. This clip is interesting. It's from WTHR in January 1987. Listen to the bumpers. It's not "Hello News". It's "People You Can Count On" a la WBNS. Wish we could find an open.
  18. WBNS 1996 newscast. This is the best executed station image I've ever seen. Those graphics are super cool:
  19. WLWT 1982 11pm open with Clyde Gray: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xhrq2Ns78nE
  20. KARE 1993 11 p.m. I am not a huge fan of the "Newsmark" package, but the closing cut is fantastic and then the Gannett deathstar:
  21. Yeah, without seeing Julia Child and the Playhouse Theatre clips, most probably would not have known this is a PBS station.
  22. PBS (!) affiliate WEDU in Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL, used a Klein & promotional campaign: 3 For All circa 1983:
  23. KGTV 1979 newscast with Jack White. Also includes part of World News Weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBsfShPeTg0
  24. WJRT 1992 newscast w/ "Building a Better Texas" theme: Solid newscast for a small market.
