WOWK 1996 morning news. No idea what the theme is. You can hear the bulk of it around 22:24. Also, at the very end, you can hear an ID:

WTVJ 1986 news promo:
-
Very good info!
-
I wonder if Doug Benge composed the various WRTV themes?
-
The One for All! Wow, WTSP's implementation of that package has to be the best of any station.
I've been dying to find more talent opens from that era. It was WTSP's best overall image. Hope to find a full weeknight talent open.

Back to the mainland, here the first 5 minutes include footage from WFLA and a WTSP news open from 1990:

KTVI, 1987 with Yours Truly (no surprise):
Wow, dig that music package. What a great close.
-
Wonder if he composed any other themes?
-
Was there any date associated with it? I am quite sure it debuted in 1983 based on YT clips, but I was curious.
On a side note, I wonder if he'll ever get around to changing the WBNS '77 listing to Gavin/Connors?

OK, so this is really interesting:
The NMSA has found the composer for the "WTSP 1983 News Theme" used from 1983-1989. It is not Tuesday Productions, as I long suspected.
It's William Douglass Benge.
Anybody know any information about this composer???

KIRO 1982 news open:

There were quite a few stations that also used a red/white/blue color scheme to some degree in the '80s. WFLA, owned by Media General, had the color scheme between 1985-1989.

The WJXT 1981 theme has to be from Klein &.

It seems there was a sort of refresh of the campaign that took place in 1983/84, which was a more aggressive sound for TSOTB with the "Watch Our Spirit Now" promos.
-
Well, the "tele-type" effect at the end of the cut that opens Joe's editorial segment does sound very much like "Hello News" in a way.
And some claim that WFLA used "Hello News" for a brief time in 81-82, but no videos have appeared yet.
-
Maybe someone can cut that video and just post the SOTB promo by itself.

At 2:53 in this video, is a promo from "The Spirit of Tampa Bay" campaign that ran on WXFL from 1982-85:

I recently found very rare video of KIEM during their "Eyewitness News" era and CBS affiliation. These videos were uploaded by Jon Crane who was a KIEM reporter during that period. You can view a video of KIEM by clicking on
and a news open can be seen at 5:54.A ton of WTSP 1980's segments as well:
